Product Description Highway is a unique, easy to fit in-car DAB digital radio that also enables you to listen to your iPod/MP3 player. Powered from the in-car power socket and easily attached to your windscreen with a removable flexible mount (just like sat nav) Highway receives DAB stations and transmits them to your car radio on a free FM frequency. Simply tune your car radio to the FM frequency shown on Highway?s display to listen to DAB or your iPod/MP3 player. DAB digital radio brings you more stations including BBC 7, BBC Five Live Sports Extra, Planet Rock and theJazz. National AM stations such as talkSPORT, Virgin and BBC Five Live are also broadcast in crisp, clear digital-quality DAB. Highway is packed with great, easy-to-use features such as ReVu? to pause and skip back through live DAB radio, quickSCAN to find free FM transmission frequencies, and 4 FM transmission presets (synchronize these with your car radio?s FM presets to make avoiding interference a breeze). You can even take Highway from the car when your journey?s over and carry on listening using headphones*. * Headphones not included.Whether you want to enjoy the digital stations in-car that you do at home, listen to your iPod/MP3 player on the move, or just discover DAB, Highway brings a lot more entertainment to your journey.

Good.......when it works July 4, 2008 First signs were good, tuned in easily, picked up plenty of DAB stations and FM transmission good, then I drove off, keeps cutting out, just not enough signal strength on my commute (M/A27 Southampton to Chichester). Shame as when there is a signal it sounds really good but cutting out as often and for as long as it does renders it almost useless. I will be contacting Amazon with a view to returning it for a refund.
Maybe ahead of its time? July 2, 2008 Fundementally this product did not work for me. During the course of my 20 mile journey to work in the fringes of the W. Mids conurbation I think it was only listenable for a 3 mile stretch of the M5, otherwise it constantly cut out, or could not receive the station I wanted to listen to at all. It has the makings of a great product, but at present, certainly in my area, the DAB signal simply isn't strong enough to support it. At present it's not fit for purpose.
Pure Highway In-Car DAB Radio with FM Transmitter - Black July 2, 2008 I have just taken delivery of my HIGHWAY and I am not disappointed. I am still trying to work out the knack of hiding the wires from the cigarette lighter to the unit around my steering wheel but overall I am very satisfied with my new gadget. I really am pleased that I have BBC Radio Live 5 Sports Extra in my car for the cricket matches now. No more crackly Radio 4 Test Match Specials or disappearing off for weather forecasts at a crucial part of the game. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has any success in wiring up an MP3 player to the system.
what a disappointment June 21, 2008 Having used a portable Pure DAB & FM transmitter in my car for over a year, I was keen to get the new Highway. I live in London and usually get a good reception for most digital stations (particularly Planet Rock, which is the only station I listen to). I set up the Highway fairly quickly, and then tried to tune into Planet Rock. It didn't want to know. Tried other stations including BBC but the reception was very poor. The other big problem was that when the unit was mounted on the magnetic windscreen holder, it kept sliding off and falling onto the floor. I'm really disappointed as the Highway has some really good features, such as pause & rewind on live broadcasts, can also be used as a handheld unit. But I found it terrible for reception (compared to my tried & trusted Pure portable DAB) and the magnetic windscreen holder was useless. Shame, but at least I get a full refund from Amazon.
Aggers and the Boys. Brilliant. June 20, 2008 Having just an FM radio in the car have been looking at one of these for a while to listen to cricket etc. Was a bit worried after reading negative reviews about poor reception but bought one anyway, I LOVE IT. it's spot on. Reception great in my area (Long Newton - Teesside)Easy to fit, easy to remove when you leave the car etc. A great buy !! Get One!!
