Quite poor quality October 4, 2008 I purchased these to 'upgrade' from my standard ipod earphones. Unfortunately, I was incredibly dissapointed. I'm not a music expert by any stretch of the imagination, but it was clear to me that the sound quality of these earphones was very, very poor. They were incredibly bassey, but not in a good way. It sounded muffled and dull. The mid and high range were also muffled and unclear. It was so bad in fact that my ipod earphones were clearly miles better. I guess you get what you pay for. I've now returned these and ordered a pair of Shure E2C's based on the advice of a friend.
Excellent sound and value but ONE problem, can someone help if possible October 3, 2008 These were my first in-ear earphones, and I didn't know what I was missing all these years without one.
Like others have already said, this has fantastic quality, especially for the price! It breathed new life into my iPod, and even started to expose the compression of my highest 320kbps MP3 tracks. Darn it, I'll have to go to lossless I think!
The only thing I don't like about these headphones, is that the cord is made of rubber. This gives it a lot of friction to your clothes. So when you're moving around, it gets stuck and catches onto/between something and the bud/s often are pulled right out of my ears! I've gotten used to it and adjusted after a while I suppose but in the end it'd be nice to have a normal plastic cord which slides wherever it needs to and doesn't get caught.
I know it's weird to ask a question in a review, but if anyone knows a *good* earphone just like this, but using a plastic lead, please let me know in a comment reply.
Otherwise, these buds are GREAT! If rubber turns you on, I give these five stars. :)
An excellent buy September 18, 2008 Got these headphones to go with the Apple ipod classic 80GB in black. They are really good value for money.
I felt I needed to buy something better than the standard headphones that come supplied with the Apple ipod in terms of fit and sound quality.
These ones are great because they come with different pads so that you can find the right one that fits more comfortably inside your ear. Also, because they give you a better fit, you are less likely to disturb people when using them and the music sounds better because they are a better fit. I would say that this is a good price for something that to me gives me everything I am looking for in earphones. I think that you could possibly spend more money on something even better but this price bracket just for headphones for me is sufficient to give the basic requirements, reasonable sound and fit. Also I wouldn't like to spend too much more on something that might easily have to be replaced if it accidently gets pulled or damaged in any other way.
I hope my review will convince you that it is a nice buy.
'Ere, ear... September 18, 2008 I got these earphones because the ones that came with my Creative MP3 player fell to bits after 2 years fairly light use. However, I wish I'd replaced them much earlier because the sound quality with these is soooo much better. before on my walk to and from work the traffic noise often obscured what I was listening to - but not any more and now I'm able to listen at lower volume. They provide a natural, well-balanced sound that works well with all kinds of music, they are comfortable and don't slip out of your ear. What more can you ask for from earphones?
Spend your money elsewhere September 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Whilst the sound quality is good enough, the earphones themselves are so cheaply made that they WILL FALL APART. My first pair lasted six months before I had to superglue them together and then lasted another six months, which at the time I thought was okay considering how inexpensive they are. The second (and last)pair however didn't even last two months. The earphones literally fall apart, the metal rim seems to be attached with something weaker than post-it note glue, and once this happens the delicate wires simply have no chance of staying in place. This happened with both pairs. DO NOT BUY THESE, spend a bit more on something that will last longer.
