5 out of 5 stars Perfect!   August 29, 2008
This is Superb! Tactile, stylish, light, sufficiently complicated (for gadget geeks!) yet simple, and above all reliable. It has replaced an ageing and finally malfunctioning remote from Richer Sounds, bought in 2001 so it owed me nothing really.
I had some trepidation about the item, having been used to my old stylish and well functioning device, but I needn't have feared. It is everything I wanted it to be, and more, and worth the 4 or 5 hours (over three nights) it has taken me to set it perfectly for my system. (Which is probably more than an average system might take cos' it's so satisfyingly complex!)
It feels superb in your hand, looks the business, glows gorgeously in orange, and works seemlessly with ALL of my equipment. It is currently operating 8 units, with space for a further 7! Can't wait to install remote dimmers for my lights, and have dreamt of electric blinds (but though I love U2, I am not in U2, so they may have to remain a dream for now!).
Point is though, that it it will work with almost anything requiring an IR control, so the upgrade possibilities are vast! Highly recommended!
Superb device! Excellent price, and usual flawless service from Amazon!

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic, very easy to use!   August 10, 2008
I have 5 main devices in my lounge (TV, DVD, Amp, Sky+, Roku Soundbridge) and was getting fed up with all the various controls I needed. After reading all the good reviews I decided to buy the Logitech Harmony 555 and have not looked back since!

It was very easy to set-up but does take a little bit of work. I found the Logitech software very intuitive and had it all working in about 30 minutes or so. It does everything I expected it do, and I'm sure I could tune it even further if needed.

Basically it just works, it does enough but not so much that it is over complicated. I would highly recommend this device, seems like good value for money to me.

5 out of 5 stars What was life before it?   August 5, 2008
I've always been a bit circumspect of universal remotes as I felt I would miss out on the whole functionality of the other remotes. But after using this one for a few days, I just wonder how I was juggling 6 different ones before it. First the database is vast, and secondly the programming is so easy. Thats the best thing about this remote, it sets all components up and gives you control the way you want. Brilliant.

5 out of 5 stars Simple to set up - does what it says   August 2, 2008

Trust me, this really is easy to set up. The software leads you through a set of questions regarding our unit set ups - ie which input sockets feed the TV, DVD etc. Its nothing complicated at all. It took no more than 20 mins to set up TV, DVD, CD and two amps.

99% of the buttons are already idnentified on the remotes - its very easy to add some of the more specialist buttons as you just go into device set up and allocate the buttons.

TIP - use the bluetooth feature on the harmony with any of your remotes if you have problems, with the bluetooth route it can check your exact remote spec by asking you to test click one or two buttons on your existing remote.

If fow whatever reason one of your units get turned on/off at source this may confuse the harmony - just press the HELP button and it will reset the unit,

All in all - so easy to set up and its a total bargain. One remote now instead of 5!! 5 Star!

3 out of 5 stars Expensive forthe money   July 28, 2008
I am ok with technical stuff but this remote needed a lot of fiddling to get it functioning reasonably. Quite expensive considering it's user unfriendliness.
