Editorial Reviews:

DVD Description
Without doubt, The Eagles are one of the all-time biggest acts in popular music since the dawn of the rock'n'roll era. The band's roots go back to their role as defining artists in the phenomenally popular Southern California rock scene of the 70s, a decade in which they delivered four consecutive No.1 albums. Their momentous 2004 farewell tour filled stadiums around the world, and this 2-DVD set captures one of the most stellar events from that now-historic global sweep.

4 out of 5 stars Missing Don Felder   June 8, 2008
Nice collection but there's a huge space where Don Felder should be. The session guy gets the notes (most of them anyway) but not the feel, and they made him stand way over to the left just so there was no mistaking the fact that he wasn't really part of the 'family' . When Felder plays on HFO the pure enjoyment and mastery comes bursting out of the screen and overall HFO it is the best production but I bought them both anyway.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Yet   May 16, 2008
I paid 30 for my DVD, at the time I thought why would you pay that!
I'm so glad I did, once a month on a Saturday night with a bottle of red wine.......it can't be beaten.
The lads are extremely good at what they do.
You won't be disappointed.....

5 out of 5 stars Farewell 1 - versus - Hell Freezes Over   March 13, 2008

Was given "Farewell 1" for my birthday. Came on here to find a couple of reviewers who said they prefer Hell Freezes Over. So I couldn't wait to hear that DVD, as Farewell 1 is simply superb.
Jeez! what a disappointment.
Yes Hell Freezes Over is ten years older than Farewell 1, but doesn't it show it. Being their first reunion concert, they are not at ease, and it comes thro' in the music. In saying all this, I still gave it 3 stars. It is THE EAGLES after all!
On Farewell 1 - the harmonies are outstanding, the musicianship is without flaw, and Joe Walsh's contribution just gets better with age. Yes I know there are a host of session musicians on Farewell 1, but aren't they put to excellent use.

5 out of 5 stars Great picture and fantastic sound.   November 30, 2007

Another quality concert release from The Eagles. Great HD picture quality and the sound if fantastic. Although it is not advertised on the packaging anywhere, this HD-DVD features a "DTS-HD Master Audio" audio track which gives outstanding audio quality if you have the right decoding equipment.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent   November 26, 2007

I am not a great rock fan, but "Lyin' eyes" is one of my all-time favourites. I only realised that this DVD existed when I saw the "Lyin' eyes" clip on YouTube, and so I bought it. OK, as in all popular acts, the songs are of varying quality, ranging from pretty ordinary to outstanding. What really did impress me was the sheer professionalism shown, how they did their best to make a good sound on stage for the fans and deliver value for what was probably a lot of money. The voices are past their best now (Don Henley sounding somewhat strained in "Desperado", although this did add poignancy to the words), but they were still remarkably good after all these years. It was also interesting seeing so many young folk, who couldn't have been born when the Eagles started, but all singing along with the words. Recommended.
