HD DVD picture waow, one of the best I've seen. Lovely use of colour. Great sets and special effects throughout the movie. Soundtrack excellent too.

The only Michael Bay movie I've so far liked. His films are usually too trumped up in storyline and effects for my liking.

In its own way an original science fiction movie which may have been underrated on its release in cinemas. Perhaps people bad mouthed it because they thought it tread on similar ground to Minority Report, The Matrix, Gattaca or even Coma or THX 1138 perhaps.

Yes I did think of these films watching this as I suppose futuristic movies are all gonna hit on similar themes like cloning, technology, the unknown and forbidden. The Island draws on these with a fresh perspective.

The cast were all great. This movie is very professionally made and totally believable compared to some of todays SFX movies that are just so OTT and false looking.

I don't want to get into the plot, storyline as it's an easy one to spoil.

Just to say this is quite a gem of a movie that will endure the test of time.
