Sets a new standard April 11, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
An absolutely ripping yarn from start to finish. Are they 1, 2 and 3 in the rankings of the action/adventure genre, or are they so exceptional they define their own category? Genuinely intelligent films, the Bourne movies make a ludicrous and infeasibly convoluted plot disturbingly convincing and utterly compelling. Criticism is possible, but frankly not worth the effort: well done to everyone involved.
If you don't enjoy these films, you must be a very unusual sort of individual.
case size? January 7, 2008 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
Could anyone tell me what cases these movies come in please, are they the American style HD case which are quite thin or the UK cases which are the same size as standard DVD cases? Thanks!
Bond? Naaaaa. Bourne!!!!!!!!!!! January 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
By a mile the best action thriller in history (or rather, the best I have seen). You are on the edge of your seat constantly and the climax is astonishing. Clever plots, amazing stunts (even my mum said 'Oh my God' during the Algiers rooftop bit - top notch!) and out of this world sub-zero (as in Top Gear board of cool) characters.
Matt Damon proves himself as a very solid actor, as do Julia Stiles and Joan Allen.
Bourne's audacity is fantastic and some his lines are the coolest lines in history:
'Get a little sleep Pam, your looking tired' (only cool in context) and 'Where are you?', 'I'm in my office', 'I doubt that', 'Why?', 'If you were in your office, we'd be having this conversation face to face.' (In a conversation between Bourne and a CIA agent respectively.)
Forget Bond; Bourne is the new king of cool.

The Bourne Ultimatum November 18, 2007 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have found that making a sequel to a film is not always a good idea. Making two sequels to a film is an even greater risk. This movie certainly changed my mind, however. All of "The Bourne" movies are good, but in my opinion, this third one "The Bourne Ultimatum" is the best.
