Amazon.co.uk Review Move to a healthier lifestyle without moving away from grilled foods with the George Foreman "Junior" Grill. p Already a phenomenal success in the US where it has sold over 25 million units across the range, the George Foreman Junior Grill is a healthy alternative to conventional grilling. Whatever you grill--be it meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, seafood or even sandwiches--any excess fat or liquids is channelled down the grooves in the grill and into a collection tray at the front of the unit. Also, as the machine sandwiches the food between two grills, cooking time is also reduced as both sides cook at once and spitting is practically nonexistent because the food is encased in the grill. The instruction manual lists the different cooking times for different food. p Operation is simple; plug it in and switch it on at the plug socket. The heat indicator light will then go out when it is ready to use. The Junior Grill has enough room to cook two good sizes quarter-pounder burgers or about four regular burgers with a bit of room in two of the corners. The grill also features a rather handy bun warmer that is accessed by lifting up the clear plastic cover on the lid of the grill. There's enough room in the bread warmer to squeeze in two burger buns cut in half. p If you're not too concerned about the amount of fat you intake from conventionally grilled foods, the George Foreman grill will change this: for example, the amount of fatty liquid collected in the drip tray from two quarter-pounder burgers with 92% meat content is unbelievable. And even though a large quantity of liquid is collected in the tray, burgers remain tasty and not at all dry. p The included grooved spatulas make it easy to remove the food from the grill as they fit perfectly between the grooves on the grill. A new addition to the grill is a set of removable extension feet that raise the grilling machine a further half an inch from the work surface enabling foods such as tacos or pita bread to be placed at the front for easy transfer of any grilled fillings. p Cleaning the grill is a bit more time consuming than cleaning a grill pan as you can't simply dunk it in a bowl of soapy water and attack it with a scouring pad. That said it does have a non-stick coating so you simply wipe it down with a damp cloth or kitchen paper. p The George Foreman "'Junior" Grill is a must have for anyone who uses a grill on a regular basis as it will cut down on your fat intake instantly without you needing to cut out your favourite grilled foods. Although the grill isn't that big, a smaller "Baby" version is also available. I--Ben Curtis/I

George's Great Grill December 24, 2006 John Connolly (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As mentioned by others this little grill cooks a couple of burgers or chops easily and your burger buns can warm in the top section while you cook the burgers. br / br /Don't be put off by the comments about it being difficult to clean. Whoever threw this away because they couldn't clean it wants their bumps felt. Simply turn it on for a minute before cleaning and the grease and gunk comes off with a wipe with a piece of kitchen towel. No need to wash it at all and any slightly sticky bits can be wiped away by putting a drop of cooking oil on the paper towel. br / br /A very neat and easy to use accessory for any kitchen.

Useful, but.... December 3, 2005 Chris Lawton (England) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
I#x27;ve been using my grill for about 2 months. It does work well, especially with bacon, burgers, toasties and the like. I tried grilling tomatoes on it but that was a mistake; the tomatoes were obliterated and it took ages to clean the grill. That#x27;s the downside, the grill plates are not removable and it#x27;s a devil of a job to clean the thing properly, especially the top plate. As noted elsewhere, the plastic spatula is next to useless. However, I still use it. I suppose it#x27;s no more onerous to clean than your average grill.
Knockout! Great value and cooks really well. January 28, 2004 mr_ska (London, England) 30 out of 31 found this review helpful
I have had one of these 'Junior' grills for just over six months now, and I still use it nearly every day. It is great for cooking steaks, chicken, veg, and a fair few unhealthy things like burgers. It heats up quickly, and cooks the food much faster than the grill on my cooker. It is also very easy to keep clean. The secret is to clean it as soon as you can after you have finished cooking and it comes up sparkling clean really easily. pThe 'bun warmer' on the top is a nice little touch, and you can use it to do a fair few other things. The only problem you will have with this grill is throwing away all the fat that comes out of the food you cook, and that's only because the fat doesn't look nice! pOverall this grill is great value, it is big enough to cook pretty much anything you want for one or two people, but it isn't so big that you are heating up a huge space with nothing in it, so you save money on the electricity bill. Food wise, the taste is great, and the food comes out looking good too.
Mixed grill January 25, 2004 36 out of 40 found this review helpful
I use my grill 2 or 3 times a week, but have very mixed views. In general it grills fine, but does work best on already fatty foods. Leaner foods tend to end up dry. In fact I've even taken to oiling tuna and the like for cooking!pThe fat removal is also fine. pMy biggest complaint is cleaning the non-removable grill plates. It takes a lot of scrubbing with a lot of kitchen paper to remove the baked-on fat and food debris (I've found it's easiest, but still not easy if the grill is warm - cold, baked on debris is a nightmare). pThe scraper is a joke - the serrations don't match the ridges on the grill plates.pOh and the plastic lid fell off - the plastic hinges cracked and snapped due to exposure to heat I guess. I never use the bun warmer so it's no loss to function, but it does look a little odd.pWhen my George Foreman grill gives up, I'll look at ones with removable plates although the reviews on reliability aren't encouraging.
