Unlike the other reviewer, my new Philips iron has made a great start and, at the moment is functioning really well. It appears to have all the functions I need: not too heavy, swivel cord, comfortable handle (especially for arthritis sufferers), smooth base plate, clearly visible water tank and is easily controllable. It may not have the high wattage others offer, but for me it is fine for an average family wash. It seems a great bargain at the reduced price, provided it continues to function the way it has started. For now I would award it a well-deserved 5 stars.
