not the most durable December 27, 2007 Mr. S. Laqua (London, UK) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have owned this coffee maker for over a year and while I have to agree with the other reviewers that it makes great coffee and is easy to use - it just does not withstand everyday use. br / br /The support is very helpful and sent me a new coffee maker after the first one broke, but after another year with the new version of this coffee maker (check out the 2007 model) I now have the electric base being broke the 3rd time. br / br /I do use this coffee maker on a daily basis, but still I would assume it to last longer than a year. br /Support was very helpful, but I do not want to keep asking them for a new part every year... br / br /Looking at the base in more detail, it is very cheaply made (even the new model) and I am convinced making some improvements here would really benefit the durability of this otherwise great coffee maker.
senior moments are us... January 16, 2007 veganfiddler (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was prompted to write a review following the previous reviewer confessing to a 'senior moment' causing an accidental destruction of equipment. I just had one with my Bialetti MokaEasy. It was a Christmas present and replaced my beloved stovetop coffee maker that in the past I boiled up on the smallest gas ring. The electric version makes the same good coffee, I dont have to wait until the gurgles tell me that it is ready and it doesnt make a mess on the cooker - until this morning.... br /I filled it up and put it on and went into the bathroom. br / br /When I returned to the kitchen you can imagine my distress at finding it in flames and dripping molten plastic all over the cooker top... br / br /Seriously idiotic... br / br /But having recovered my equilibrium, I have returned to Amazon and immediately ordered another one. I just have to work out how to tell the wonderful person who gave it to me in the first place... br /
This really does the job July 17, 2006 Laurie's lass (NE Scotland) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is an electric version of the stove-top model that I've used previously and is a huge improvement. No splatter, no having to keep an eye on it and always a great cup of coffee. br / br /I like the angular shape - it makes it easy to get a grip to screw and unscrew it.
Traditional Espresso - but more convenient December 4, 2004 24 out of 27 found this review helpful
We loved our traditional shape electric espresso jug - but I killed it by running it without water - had a senior moment! (so we are buying another). I really recommend this it makes excellent espresso coffee.
