Product Description Remembering a bunch of passwords can be quite a pain, considering the amount of e-mail accounts, Bank accounts, social networking sites, and forums that one participates in every day. You cant just leave them on a text file on your Windows Desktop, making it privy to all and sundry and neither can you write it down in a small piece of paper lest it gets lost. What are you supposed to do then, considering all those above mentioned user accounts are mission critical? The answer lies in the Eikon Digital Privacy Manager. The Eikon Digital Privacy Manager provides a fingerprint authentication security solution thanks to the Eikon USB peripheral fingerprint reader coupled with the Protector Suite QL software. This solution enables you to retrofit this biometric authentication system onto an existing computer, greatly simplifying the different aspects of PC usage at the swipe of a finger. No longer do you need to cram your brain with a whole bunch of passwords when your humble fingerprint is enough to do the job. In fact, sensitive files can be encrypted and launched in different applications as long as you assign specific fingers for each one. The Eikon Digital Privacy Manager is compatible with Firefox, Windows Vista, and now Mac. Dont worry about having your fingerprint replicated - the fingerprint reader stores only mathematical data based on the uniqueness of a fingerprint, in shorts, a template that cannot be reverse engineered to reproduce the fingerprint image. The Eikon fingerprint reader won the prestigious Consumer Electronics Association (CES) Best of Innovations Award in 2007.

What a discovery! September 11, 2008 Stephen Daniels (Edinburgh, Scotland) This is a fantastic little device - I wish I had found it sooner! It works perfectly with FireFox 3 (once you have installed the updated plug-in) - I never have to remember a login name and password again! Fantastic. I have got it to work with password-protected Office 2007 files, my Vista login, and with TrueCrypt so far - amazing. Not once has it miss-read my finger swipe. I bought it from Useful World, and it was on my desk the next morning.
Clever little thing May 8, 2008 J. Graves (Milton Keynes, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This small, stylish reader work well with Firefox 2.0 and Vista Ultimate 64 bit (software included with purchase). Gets the master finger reading within 5 swipes, from then on, it reads your finger or fingers every time, almost without fail. Able to store username, passwords and any other details you want to keep secret. Just a swipe at any password protected site gets you logged on. Because it's a swipe reader the fingerprint cannot be lifted and reused, unlike some other readers. This device has saved time and frustration from not remembering my password for a site. Oh, it has a protected folder too, just in case you want to keep secure details to hand (or to finger). Get this one, you won't be disappointed.
Amazing Product April 18, 2008 D. Morrison (London, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Forget passwords! And it certainly does that! A great peace of kit to free up a little more space in our ever full brains! Work seamlessly and does what it says on the tin and more, It installed without a problem and was working within minutes. It works better than the Microsoft fingerprint reader when I used that with XP and then Vista 32. It did a better job of recognizing fingerprints. Oh and fast delivery too............Buy Buy Buy
Sound Piece of Kit April 18, 2008 Jeff Berry (Mold, Wales) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Totally cheesed off with trying to remember / manage my gigantic password list so bought this. Great investment, should have got one ages ago. Works with Firefox no problem. The only slightly annoying thing is that it made me create a login password for XP. Never had to go through the logon procedure before as I'm the only user. Still it only takes a jiffy to swipe my finger at the logon screen. (Just remember to make a password reset disk in case your finger print reader goes kaput and you can't remember the actual logon password). The picture of the device on Amazon shows it branded as 'Eikon' but when I received mine it is branded 'UPEK' which I think is the parent company. My item was supposed to be delivered by April 9th (ordered on 2nd) but did not arrive. I emailed TYCO on the 10th but they did not reply. I received a phone call on the 15th explaining that the package was regarded as being lost by the courier. I received the replacement the next day. Overall I'm very please with this purchase.
excellent! March 31, 2008 J. Barker (England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
fast delivery! Bank statememnt says "PTI region europe". Apparently its a common problem, has been refunded and apparently recharged tomorrow under "amazon". Item is excellent. I bought it as i have the UPEK fingerprint reader built into my Dell M1330 and its superb in there. Remembers all passwords, makes logon a doddle!! Superb, and worth the money! grips well to the desk, doesnt move when i swipe my finger. Superb accuracy. Gets the recognition right 99/100 times. BUY ONE!
