It works with Vista! October 22, 2008 Sarge (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed a serial connection for configuring Cisco devices. I found both my my laptop and PC didn't have a serial port. Oh did I mention they have vista installed, I discovered no hyperterminal :( br / br /Anyway after trying a number of cables this one worked like a breeze. br /All I had to do was plug this cable in, windows found the drivers and bam, I have a com port! br / br / br /
Cannot fault it September 12, 2008 Mick Sharpe (Leicester, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This lovely little gadget worked straight out of the box. Installation was amazingly straightforward and my serial port barcode reader was up and running inside five minutes. Quick delivery, too. Recommended.
Worked perfectly in vista July 21, 2008 Mr. G. Blades (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Plugged it into my Vista notebook and although the instructions said to point to the supplied CD when asked for a driver vista found the driver via windows update automatically and it started working straight away. br /You probably only need the CD if you dont have an internet connection the first time you plug it in.
Good stuff May 11, 2008 Alistair Smith (Somerset, UK) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Bought whizzy new PC (Dell with Vista) - but oh dear, no RS232 port for my faithful old Garmin hand-held GPS. Bought this little cracker, sets up a treat and immediately appears as 'COM 3' in the device manager. br / br /I guarantee you won't tell the difference between this and a 'real' serial port, at the expense of using up another USB socket of course. br / br /Great little product!
USB converter cable - A success! April 23, 2008 Susan Eyley 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Bought a PC without a serial port. Needed one for my Garmin 72 GPS. Bought this converter and it worked first time. Only had to change the COM Port setting and off it went. Delighted...Would recommend this item to anyone with a Garmin.
