This storage device is a little more expensive than others but overall it is worth it, the device comes with software which allows you to basically double the storage from 512mb to 1gb because of the compression software, looks good and works very well, overall well worth the money and you get the reasurrance of a brand name like sony. excellent

I have owned a Microvault 512MB Flash drive for over 6months now and I have not had any problems! The encryption software is also a great utility. As for durability, it is fantastic. I accidently left it in my trouser pocket when my wife did the laundry. It went through a 40 degree wash cycle with full spin and then spent 1hour in the dryer. When I found it rattling about in the dryer the next day, I thought what the hell and tried it in my usb port. Unbelieveably it worked!!! A more than satisfied customer!

This really is a great bit of kit, I really only have 2 comments to add:p1. When using the drive you really have to use the #x27;stop USB drive#x27; from the Quick buttons. Many of the pen drives I have used can survive being remove without it. But there is a much higher chance of loosing your data with this one.p2. These really are quite tough bits of kit! Mine has, to date, been run over by a Miltary Landrover (and they#x27;re heavy!!) and my missus, bless her, put my shrit in the wash without out removing the USB from the pocket. I would not advise you try either of these at home, but mine is still working.pAll-in-all a good bit of kit and well worth 4 stars.

Of course it is possible to buy larger capacity USB storage #x27;pens#x27; for less money but this is a high quality Sony product. Besides, it is beautifully designed and an essential bit of kit if you like all things Sony. I#x27;ve used it every day for the past couple of months and can#x27;t find anything bad to say about it.

I bought this some while ago, and although I have experienced one problem (saving an 83MB Word file on a Win 2000 Pro PC), it is overall quick to write and read, especially on my Win XP Pro laptop. Only slight problem is the plastic cover has a slight crack in it; other than that well worth the money, though it only gives you 480MB memory and not 512MB
