 Very Good everyday case! November 3, 2008

Just brought this case for my EOS 350D as I wanted a bit more protection. br /I already have a nice lowepro case for this camera and you might as well, but if your like me, it's very rarely used. When I go on walks with my family, I normally have to carry a backpack with all our stuff in, and carrying a camera bag as well is just a pain. The old EOS is normally thrown in the backpack, or in the back of the car or over my shoulder! Go on, really, how often do you actually take your camera bag?? br / This case is great and I'm not sure if some of the other reviews missed the point a bit. Yes you need a 1p peice to screw it on, and yes the screw does appear to be too short and the case too stiff a first, but thats only becuase its new!! Its very easy to fit and I'm sure over time, you'll be able to do it with your fingers as it gives a bit with use. And ok, you have to remove it to change your card and the battery, but how often do you change a batterey, once a week? its hardly a pain. And if your like me and you've got a 4GB card, how often do you change a card!! I tend to shoot masses of JPEG plus RAW and hardly ever take it out, and thats only so I can put it in the card reader! br / Also, yes it can be a pain to compose with the front of the case dangling around the lense, but the way i use it, and the way I think was intended to be used, you have the front on when its on the backseat of the car, or in a backpack or just being carried around, but when you want to use the camera, you take the front OFF!! stuff it in a bag or in a coat pocket, put the camera around your neck and take photos! when you've finished you put it back on again and chuck the camera in the car! The bottom of the case feels strong and well built, no it dosn't cover a lot but it cover's enough, like the areas where I've broken my old film EOS's before, the base and the edge's. It also protects the CF card door, another potential weak spot. I've got no problem now throwing it on the floor at a picnic, whilst sitting on a wall or whatever and happy it will protect the camera from breakages. br / All in all a good case that doe's what it's supposed to, and much better than walking around with a dead wieght of a camerabag breaking your shoulder! br / oh, and lots of room for a good sized ''normal zoom'', but not a big one as said before. I've got a 35-70mm which fits fine, although you need to remove the lens hood first. br / I for one, am very pleased with it! br /

This is a great case to give the camera a reasonable level of protection, without excessive bulk. I use it for when I'm carrying the camera around by the shoulder strap to protect it from knocks. Also very useful if your putting the camera into a standard rucksack. br / br /Some reviews i've seen say that the base is very hard to attach and requires a two pence piece to unscrew it to remove. Neither of these are true on the one I received through mazon, using it on my Rebel XTi (US version of the 400D). br / br /Just what I was looking for.

hi, br /i except bit more in design, its not covered full camera, lower back is need attached by support, then only you can use this cover, its only support 18-55 lens only, think and buy

This case's fit around the camera is slightly odd on my 400D with kit lens attached as more of the camera is exposed that I imagined would be. The other comments regarding its screw on base are also spot on, I can see why some would have problems de/attaching but I didn't. br / br /Initially it is very fiddly to squeeze the camera in, however the material seems to 'give' a bit more after some usage. This does mean a snug fit which is good and unusual in the softer cases I've used. Screen protection, quality of construction, and weight I cannot fault at all. br / br /I needed better protection that a soft case, but didn't want the weight of a hard one. This case performs adequately for that task.
