Certainly pretty good September 27, 2008 V. Brean Well, I generally like Kodak cameras, the ease of use is impressive, this camera is one of their best point and shoots from an image quality perspective because it uses the excellent 8.1MP 2/1.8 sensor which was also used in what I think was Kodaks best ever camera, the P880, image quality can be very very good, I think the older C875 (same sensor) which I have also reviewed is marginally better though. br / br / You do get a fair amount of manual control on this camera, and more importantly, the settigs are very easy to access...Kodak could teach a few manufacturers a trick or two there. br / br / There is a Programme auto mode and a full manual mode, but strangely no Aperture priority, but most will not miss that br / br / Nice integral lens cover that closes over the lens on power down...reasonable quality screen for the price, and a decent lens...its pretty good...better than you might expect, and the image quality can be remarkably good with care, I mean a step up from most small sensor digicams (a 1/1.8 sensor is bigger than average and hence better image quality partly due to the less dense pixel spacing on the chip) br / br / Battery life is good from two AAs, decent construction...sharpness by default is a bit OTT, shoot in P mode, set sharpness to low with natural colour setting...and its pretty good br / br / You get sharpness setting of high medium or low, and three colour modes, no custom white balance but several presets, and Kodak WB is generally excellent, outside I use daylight white balance br / br / Lens starts at 36mm equiv...wish it was wider, but thats about average for this class of cam....yes its not bad at all ! br /
A FINE EASY TO USE HIGH RESOLUTION CAMERA. January 14, 2008 NEO (orpington kent) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kodak have been the king of cameras for years and years so it was a no brainer decision to buy this. With it's slick black or silver body to it's 8.1MP range to the large 2.5' screen. Also the 5x optical zoom which for this price range isn't bad at all combined with the easy share. You get standard alkaline batteries which is something of a let down but it will take re-chargables. So far I have taken about 20 snaps using the standard point and shoot mode on the supplied batteries. The software is very easy to use and your given a USB cable but i just pull out the SD card. I can't find anything really wrong with this camera so far but i have only owned it for a month !. As my last Kodak Digital camera decided to die on me after a year so hopefully this one will last a bit longer ?.
tops! August 24, 2007 leonidusprime (hornsey) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was a bit apprehensive before i got this new on the market camera since user reviews were scarce and mixed and spacialist reviews such as cnet.com were not so good but i love it!Its smaller and lighter than i thought. Its sooo easy to use, i didnt even have to read the manual and takes great pictures in bad light, and with zoom(x5). Only downside is the LCD which is wide but the resolution looks crap. Because of this before you take a pic you think its going to be bad cos it looks grainy but once you snap it what an image! Downloading was a cinch so i dont know why other users were complaining it was slow. Also did not have to use a cd since it installed automatically with my windows XP pentium 4 (2.66 GHz clock).Good stuff kodak though would have been nice to have face detection too but dont think i really miss it from picture results.

Recently purchased this camera, love the many features. I'd give a 5 except the screen doesn't have the best resolution
