It makes me feel stupid October 17, 2008 L. Hennessy (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love the way this camera looks. I've had it for a few months now, and tellingly I've only used it a few times, preferring to use my old 7 mp Samsung instead. br / br /The problem I have is that I just can't figure out how to use the settings - admittedly I am a techno-moron - the icons seem to be counter-intuitive to me. br / br /It's frustrating to read all these glowing reviews, because the pictures I get from the AUTO setting just aren't right: there's too little light etc. On the Macro mode, it seems to be hit and miss as to whether it manages to find the focal point, and the button icons don't give me a clue as to what the settings do. br / br /You can set the definition of the pictures to fit the memory card you already have - as 12mp shots take up a lot of space - or alternately you could get yourself a new 16gb SD cardTranscend 16GB SDHC Class 6 Memory Card, which works well in this camera. br / br /I did like the case that a friend bought me, designed specifically for this camera - really snug and colourful: GeeBee (Coffee Brown) Samsung digimax (Small) ( NV Series: NV4 NV24 NV20 NV30 NV40 NV3 NV8 NV10 NV15 / i8 i85 i7 i70 i6 i5 i50 / L210 L77 L74 L700 L73 L70 L60 L55 L50 L830 L730 L83t / P800 P1000 M110 / S860 S760) - Camera case br / br /One bonus is that this camera doesn't eat AA batteries like the digital cameras used to; this has an internal rechargeable cell that is powered through the USB port. br / br /I'm going to have to trawl through the manual again; this will no doubt be worth it in the long run, but if you want a simple camera that takes quality pictures, you're better off looking elsewhere; the point to bear in mind here is that this is not the sort of camera you'll get the hang of straight away. I'll persever with it now, but I'd have been better off with a different choice. br / br /Considering the price ( 99) it's still going to be tempting though!
Just give it some time August 15, 2008 Mr. L. Lewis (Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic little camera at a great price. I got this to share with my wife as both are cameras had finally bit the dust. I usually had larger slr-bridge cameras so thought a small one would make a nice change for taking out and about. It takes great pictures, is very tough and has a nice selection of presets. I have not used the manual setting much as all the automatic presets cover a wide range of scenes. I think the only people that will be disappointed with this are those that have not given it much time. If you learn how the menus work and where all the scene presets are it really is a great little camera.
Absolutely Superb July 17, 2008 Han Xu (London, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Samsung NV20 with lots of advanced technologies and luxury Schneider Lens really gave me a unbeatable values when I was travelling around the Europe. Magnificent scenic pictures can be taken smartly within a second without any worries about direct sunshine. Shaking absorber and sharpness compensation functions made my pictures much clearer tahn normal. Lightness itself makes me so convenient to carry in airport, not messing up with heavy weight of those SLR. br /High commendation for this stunner!!! br /Last thing, also the most importantly, price is affordable for us, which is fairly valubale!!!

NV20 - Great April 25, 2008 M. Bonthrone (Scotland) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've been searching for a camera for ages I went in to John Lewis and was a toss up between a Sony and Lumix, but the sales assistant put me on to this as it was reduced to clear and in my price range and I'm glad he did. This a stylish piece of kit it has solid quality and looks amazing especially the blue power light and the electric blue trim around the lens which sort of sticks out from the body a nice little feature, also the way the flash pops up when needed. I've read the reviews about the button set up around the rear display and I must say I mastered it as soon as I turned the camera on, if your gadget/technologically minded then you'll pick it up no problem. Picture quality is good, no complaints there. This is a great all round camera and with 12.1MP it'll pretty much going last me for a good few years before it starts lagging behind in that front. br / br /If your looking for a good looking compact camera, with an innovative menu system, and solid build quality then buy this camera especially now that it's coming down in price (prob because Samsung are about to bring out it's successor).
