3 out of 5 stars Good Value for money but not quite as expected....   July 18, 2008

Cable turned up very promptly, and the item is in 'new condition' as described. Packaging is average, item isn't supplied boxed it comes in a clear plastic sealed bag. Item is NOT branded Belkin... It's branded 'Value' and made in china also, and more importantly, it doesn't look like the cable in the picture! It's a flat matt grey colour with grey coloured connectors, not semi-clear connectors as the picture shows. The cable is also a matt grey colour not with metallic braiding showing through a clear cable sheath, as the picture shows. However, the cable is remarkably cheap and provided it works (I haven't tested it yet) then i'll be reasonably pleased. Overall a fair product for the money.

3 out of 5 stars Can someone help me please? (Ignore the rating)   March 14, 2008
Mr Z (england)
I bought a Sony Handycam (DCR-HC27E) and then read a review saying you could get a firewire cable and transfer your videos to PC - Great! So I get hold of a firewire cable and it doesn't seem to attach to my camcorder; very strange as someone reviewing the camcorder said that their's does just that. br / br /Anyhow, can anyone tell me what I need to get hold of to transfer my videos? Maybe I need a firewire card? br / br /Any help much appreciated

Bought this item last week from "eye_systems". Delivery was prompt (about 3 days). With a total price 4.51 (including delivery) it's hard to beat.

5 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it says on the box   February 3, 2004

It's worked perfectly for me, every time, and it's considerably cheaper than other Firewire cables from high-street retailers.

I use this cable for transferring video from my JVC DVX-400 to my laptop PC via a FireWire PCMCIA card and it works seamlessly, never had a problem with it. If you're looking for a cable to trasfer video from your MiniDV camcorder remember to check the following. ONE - Does the camera have a small rectangular socket marked 'DV' and/or an 'i' symbol? If so this is your 4-pin FireWire socket and this is the correct cable to purchase. The small end of the cable attaches to the camera via this socket and the larger end connects to your computers FireWire socket. If your MiniDV camcorder does NOT have this small 'DV' socket then this is not the correct cable to use. Please check out the other Belkin products found on Amazon.co.uk for the correct cable to suit your needs.
