Be Careful!! November 11, 2008 Mr. W. Paskins I think the sound quality is pretty decent for only 2 pounds, I'm sure there's better though. br / br /I too thought I'd take the cogs out as they create a bit of a noise, but once I had unscrewed all screws and went to open it, everything went flying. There are two pins, each with a spring which hold the little metal gadget inplace which gives out your music, and these sprung out. It took me 20 minutes to put them back in, honestly the most annoying and stressing thing I've done in a while. So, yes take the cogs out, but when you take the case apart, do it very very slowly, unlike me, or you will regret it!

Pretty good, saved me money buying a cd player and the sound quality is exellent, i opened mine up and took the cogs out to make it quieter and still works fine.

I got this one as a spare along with a sony one.. which still hasn't arrived yet and i wasn't expecting it to be brilliant. when i put it in a casette player it gives you excellent sound quality for the prive (you loose a little bass but not much) br /the only issue i had was that it made an annoying rattling noise which is easy to fix, take it apary and remove all the cogs inside - they aern't atttatched to anything and it works fine without them seeing is it's just a casette shaped bok with a chip and a wire coming out of it. br /Great value for money
