This is a CLOCK RADIO - and a very good one! May 9, 2008 Anthony J. Andrews (London, UK) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is not a sound system for your house parties or barbecues. However, as a bedside clock radio it is perfect. br / br /There are no miracles with the sound quality, but if it were a BOSE I suspect there would be. br / br /However if you want a good clock radio to get you up in the morning, listen to while you get ready for work and something to drift off to sleep to... then they don't get much better than this.
Chronos iDock - great concept needs a little refinement January 21, 2008 Mr. Andrew Beck (UK) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I received the iDock as a present, replacing an ancient analogue clock radio. Comparatively it's way, way more complex! Features I particularly like are: br / br /* Auto-dimming clock (pity it only works in 'sleep' mode and not when the unit is active), br /* Automatic clock setting - no more fiddling about to set the time br /* Multiple alarms - we slept-in 2 hours the first Saturday! br /* Wake to some one thing, sleep to another br /* Adjustable sleep time br / br /The sound quality is pretty good, I think. No it's not hifi but it's only 9" -er- triangular. Others have mentioned the weight and the button pushing - easily solved by 2 blobs of blu-tak. Deciding which button to press when is a bit mind-blowing, especially as the remote has a different layout, so I am learning iPod, iDock and iDock remote all at once. The idents don't light up so if you can't remember what's where it's bedside light time and a nudge in the ribs from the other half. br / br /But by far the most iritating shortcoming is the low-volume whistle/buzz. I swear it was not present out-of-the-box but is very noticeable when playing playing quiet music quietly, which is something I like to do in the bedroom. This fits with what other reviewers have said so I'll try and get something out of Pure. br / br /Watch this space br / br /
Does the job January 6, 2008 Crumbs (Cambridge, UK) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Generally a good clock radio. Nice interface and well-built. The sound quality is good enough, though as other reviewers have said its not amazing. br / br /Two minor issues: br / br /1. The iPod interface is disappointing. You can set the iPod to wake you up, but can't choose which playlist etc it will start on from the radio - it will just start from the last thing it was playing. br / br /2. You can't choose radio stations from the presets from the remote control. This makes the whole preset feature a bit useless.
