Quite impressed September 19, 2008 Interestingly, some branches of Curry's have this at fifteen pounds cheaper. I switched this on and it works straight away. The controls are pretty intuitive and I just drag and drop files into the machine like an extra storage space. Something not mentioned in the guide, is that you can make separate folders inside the main music folder. I know it seems obvious, but the last player I had did not allow this, so you got a lo..o..ong list of tracks. At the Curry's price this is very good value.
Sansa e 260 September 17, 2008 As I only want a MP3 player for my music this is ideal. The ease of use, drag and drop and overall quality of sound reproduction, ergonomy and size make this a formidable challenge to the ipod. I really can't fault it.
Only piece of advice, get a good set of earphones, Sennheiser PX100, for example, especially if you're going out on the streets. Earbuds diminish the experience.
Not impressed August 24, 2008 No end of problems with this item. My PC wouldn't recognise it, I tried reloading the PC software but no good. Then it froze on me, firstly when playing the pre-loaded music, then when playing the radio. I returned it and bought a Creative ZEN MP3 player instead, which is excellent.
Not impressed ! August 21, 2008 Used this for several weeks now, tried several different headphones, and the sound is just VERY average, not impressed at all, stick to memmory cards Sandisk.
I wiil be buying a Sony walkman mp3 player to replace this one, read nothing but excellent reviews for Sony.
So take my advice, spend your money somewhere else, it will be well worth it in the end.
Cheap, easy to use alternative to the iPod July 24, 2008 If you're looking for a decent, cheaper, alternative to the all-powerful and omnipresent iPod, this is a good player to choose.
It's really easy to download tracks onto the player - basically, all you have to do is drag and drop, or simply sync the player with your chosen play-list if you use Windows Media Player. It plays all the MP3 and wma files I have without a problem, though I haven't tried video files yet.
For those like me who hate trawling through manuals, the controls are really easy to figure out and you should have the hang of just about anything basic by playing around with it for 5 minutes. If you need more memory, there's a slot for a micro SD card, so you can boost it's memory capacity if need be.
The only little niggle I found was that the 'shuffle' mode isn't quite as random as I'd like - occasionally, if you listen to the player in shuffle mode then turn it off for a while (e.g. when at work), it seems to play back exactly what you listened to previously, in reverse order, when you next turn it on and press play.
Having said this, it's only a minor niggle with a really decent little player if your on a tight budget that will beat most players in it's class. A sound investment and definitely worth it's price.
