This adapter is very good indeed. There is a slight background hiss but you get that on all devices of this type and in my view this one is very much less "hissy" than others I have heard. It is a mute point because if you are using the device in a car you will always have engine noise and wind noise to contend with anyway. br / br /One thing to bear in mind is that the device does use quite a lot of power and frankly the two AAA batteries it comes supplied with just aren't up to the job. The sound quality won't be great if you run the adapter off of them. However, the 12V cigar lighter attachment gives a lot more juice and the sound quality improves substantially. If you plan to use this device in the car as I do then you should be very happy with the result.
