5 out of 5 stars Great value, well designed iPod speaker   October 27, 2008
Guy Dalton (Derby, UK)
I realised after returning my very disappointing Klipsch iGroove, that I needed an iPod speaker that was small, neat, user friendly and practical. I'm very pleased to say that the Logitech Audiostation Express succeeds on all counts. It is small enough that it takes very little room on my kitchen worktop (or in a suitcase) and the mains adaptor is little bigger than plug size. The unit is quite attractive and has a good remote control. Its phono input is sensibly placed on the back, and is sensitive. The unit also takes batteries. There are no worries when inserting the iPod (unlike in the iGroove - see my review), and the unit comes with a generous range of adaptor plates to fit most iPods. The unit gives every impression of being well made. br / br /If the sound quality had been poor, then these features alone would have made it worth the money. Now, Logitech have not performed a miracle on the sound quality front, but it is exceptionally good for a small, relatively cheap unit. It plays very loud and clear, with vocals being especially strong. The bass could not be described as deep, but is very acceptable, is improved if you change the EQ accordingly on the iPod. It will never replace a hi-fi (now that would be a miracle), but for a truly portable system, it does very well indeed. br / br /Highly recommended.

I don't 'do' review's but I had to with this product. br / br /I wanted a small sound system to take away with us in the camper van, and I didn't have great expectations with the size and price of it.... br / br /....all i can say is WOW! small system, huge sound!! the clarity and volume is fantastic, infact, my dad, gadget man himself like's them so much he want's them for christmas! br / br /I think it will be the super fussy who will find fault with these. br / br /

5 out of 5 stars Excellent purchase   September 24, 2008
Reviewer from London
I am delighted with these speakers. I not only use them as an ipod dock, but also have a line in from my internet clock radio (which only has an integral mono speaker). Amazingly, the speakers can automatically power on when the 'line in' unit is turned on. Equally amazingly, when the clock radio comes on in the morning, the speakers automatically come on with it at the preset volume. The sound is impressive given the cost; I am particularly impressed with the balanced sound and effective bass tone achieved at low volumes, though they are generally good a higher volumes for their intended use. I rarely bother to write reviews, but in this case think that the product merits it.

5 out of 5 stars i bought this on offer here at 30   September 3, 2008
Mr. B. M. Pitcher (UK)
this item was on offer when i got it as a deal of the week, but the quality is sooooo good that i would have paid much more. the middle button can be use as a power button andd volume control and the remote works well, personally i prefer the remotes with "menu" and "select" and "up" and "down" so i can navigate through the ipod. br /The speakers come with loads of moulded supports for the dock and you can get one to fit any ipod, when you bought your ipod you should have got one anyway with it. br / br /VERY, VERY GOOD
