Much better than the later model November 5, 2008 Gutbucket (Gloucestershire, UK) Having purchased the 2008 version and found it not fit for purpose I exchanged it for this earlier model. I've used it regularly on 2-4 hour car journeys over a few months and have found it to be very reliable. This model is hassle free and just works. I also love the fact that it remembers your chosen frequency unlike the later one and doesn't turn itself off. Grab one of these while you still can!
Would be a fantastic gadget if... October 8, 2008 Lancashire Lass (Lancashire, UK) ...only I could find an interference-free/quiet frequency on my car HiFi radios. br / br /My car is a 2004 Honda Jazz SE with a radio/CD I have a 30GB iPod video, so I bought this gadget with high hopes of listening to my iPod through the radio. I didn't expect the sound quality to be brilliant from my dealings with FM headphones, but (mistakenly) I thought that maybe a dedicated gadget might surprise me... it didn't. The gadget itself works just fine is not difficult to use, but the problem is finding an interference-free/quiet frequency on my car radio, which is nigh on impossible. The best I've managed is one with a slight hiss/click in the background, but I guess it's better than nothing. I've also tried the Belkin FM gadget, which plugs into the earphone socket of an iPod or MP3 player, but the results were much the same as with the iTrip. br / br /I've tried the iTrip with my JVC HiFi, but the sound is not brilliant. A wired - through aux input/output - iPod adapter/docking station* out-shone the iTrip by a mile. br / br /By the way, if you have an iPod case similar to the i-nique Exec soft Napa leather case then the iTrip won't connect whilst the iPod is in its nice, sleek protective leather case. br / br /Roll on when (later in Oct '08) I upgrade my car to the new-style Jazz with iPort! br / br /* I have the Koda model iD811 docking station from Argos - don't think they stock it any longer :-( br /
