Good speaker November 8, 2008 Tommo (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Small goodlooking ipod speaker system. Protective case is fine but it is soft. Great sound with sufficient volume for any room. Very handy little remote that lets you use the ipod menus. It's showing at two prices on Amazon so make sure you get it for 84 not 117.99! You charge the internal battery from a mains socket and then it's portable for 10 hrs.
Great sound, portable and a remote. September 22, 2008 Mr. D. W. Holbrook (Brisbane) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You could do what I did before getting these portable speakers and read all the reviews of similar products online at sites such as the iLounge dot com. But - why bother. Trust me, these are truly amazing speakers for the size and they are well made with a good bag and remote and a realistic battery life. br / br /If you want more household 'static' but still compact speakers, the logitech Audiostation is excellent, but now I think is superseded by the Pure-fi elite range? I have the Audiostation but apparently the new elite range is even better - Wow! br / br /
Very good, but keep the receipt! September 12, 2008 M. A. Luke 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very impressed with the build quality and the look and feel of this dock. For the money it is excellent, particularly when you factor in the integral battery and the stylish carry case. Coupled with a choice of power adapters for UK and Europe (how other reviews claim this is a negative point is beyond me) it really is a truly portable device as well as a great permanent fixture in my kitchen. br /Sound quality is good, I wasn't bowled over, but for the size of the unit it's impressive. As others have mentioned, if you place it near a wall the bass depth is greatly improved. br /The remote control is slightly cheap to handle but looks good and is very functional. br /As with everything, there are a couple of negatives: br /The plastic inserts provided in different sizes for various ipods are a bit plasticky and fiddly to remove. Try as I might I couldn't find one that comfortably houses my (very common) 80gig Classic. As my wife also uses her Nano we've pretty much binned the adapters so operating the ipod buttons puts stress on the connector. br /Slightly more serious - my dock stopped charging our ipods after about 2 weeks of use. No other symptoms, the dock itself charged fine but refused to charge an ipod (I tried 3 different types!) where previously it was fine. I like the dock so I swapped it for a new one which has been OK now a month. br /Like the title says, very good but keep the recipt!
Good For Size, But No Bose / BW Competitor May 29, 2008 Mr. M. M. Harries 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've been considering buying a sound dock for a while and have read loads of reviews. A few people compare this to Bose's SoundDock and say it's better, but I can't see how. I've listened to the Bose dock and it's sound is superior in every possible way. The only difference is, the cost. br /For a budget, travel speaker set, the Logitech is great. It packs neatly into it's case, comes with UK US travel adapters, lasts ages on a charge and given it's price, you're not going to mind if it takes the odd knock. br /Sounds is average, it certainly has no real depth of bass and they distort at high volumes. If you keep the volume in the mid-range, they're fine, but if a bass heavy / loud track comes on, be prepared to reach for the volume control to turn 'em down! br /Don't get me wrong I'm glad I've bought them, because at this price, they are a good bit of kit. I'll use them in the garden / garage / on holiday and if an airline bagage handler dents them, then it's no big deal. br /If you're looking for a speaker set for your home that you can crank up at parties, this isn't the set for you. The Bose SoundDock is fantastic in that situation and gives great sound all night long and you won't need to turn them down to avoid distortion. Ultimately, I'd go for a BW Zepplin, but like I say, that's not a fair comparisson as they're hardly portable and cost a fortune. br /Essentially, if you're looking for a portable budget set of speakers, these are worth every penny, but don't think you're going to wake the neighbours with your disco tunes!
