I bought this and was delighted with it (but it's now a tad worn out!). If you just want a portable player at a good price that provides you with decent quality sound and vision without lots of distracting buttons and multiple options, this seemed ideal to me. Any guidance amazon can provide on what model has succeeded it would be much appreciated - it doesn't seem clear.

I have been quoted 57 + PP (by a mail order company suggested by Philips called DutchWest) for a new rechargeable battery pack as my existing one is on its way out
So good we've got to buy another January 30, 2008

We purchased this DVD player to use in the car last March. It was so good we took it every time we went on a long journey until the inevitable happened - it was stolen from the car - so we have to buy another. No gripes with it at all and no hesitation about getting the same again especially as it has gone down 30 on Amazon in the last 10 months. It is a life saver for the kids on journeys in the car.

I have not bought this item yet. But I will. br /I think the person who was moaning about play back had either not read what the DVD player can do or just wanted to plug another brand. br / br /This will be a great product for the weeks I spend In Hotels away from Home

I bought mine from ebay after reading the reviews here. I tried the multii region hack mentioned here but it didn't work. br / br /Here is the code that works: br / br /Switch player On and Open the tray cover br /Press Setup on the remote control br /Press the down arrow on the player twice to br /move menu selector down to the Preferences menu br /Press the right arrow on the player br /Press 2, 1, 2, 2, 2 and 5 on the remote br /Press Left Arrow on the player br /Press Down Arrow on the player br /You should now see the REGION CODE screen br /Press 0 on the remote br /Press Setup on the remote to lock in the zone change br /and to exit the process. br / br /Im really happy with this player and the 7" screen is plenty big enough.
