3 out of 5 stars Cheap enough but slightly annoying   March 30, 2006

The drive is has two settings and is partitioned. In the first setting all you get is 1.44MB like a floppy and in the second setting you get the same plus the rest of the drive. In both cases I ask, Why...?. No idea what that's all about, all I want is 512MB of flash drive when I plug in, preferably with a password. That is available here but another minor gripe is that you have to operate that from the 'floppy' section and when you open the rest of the drive with the password, Windows Explorer closes so you have to start that again. Very strange...brAs stated by other reviewers, the drive is also a little bulky and you may need an extension to access the USB port on the PC.

4 out of 5 stars Good all-round item   February 16, 2006

I have two pen-drives, and this particular one comes out top. Using XP/Win2k it recgonisies it very quickly. The item is lightweight and comes with a neck-strap. The only downside is that it#x27;s quite chunky compared to its (more expensive) rivals, so if you have a number of usb slots in a row you may find you can#x27;t use the ones adjacent to this.

3 out of 5 stars A little large....   November 28, 2005

This drive has a good memory size, but it does insist that 1.44MB of it are a new floppy disk drive, oh, and it is very chunky! I use a USB hub, and I can#x27;t fit this drive next to something which is plugged in alongside. Or not as the case may be.

Don#x27;t panic if your W98se system doesn#x27;t recognise the pen drive after loading the drivers - uninstall them and go to Bytestor website and download the updated drivers. Thought I#x27;d got a dodgey unit but it#x27;s obviously just the drivers.

4 out of 5 stars Fantastic with one minor gripe   October 19, 2005

Fantastic product, no regrets, no problems at all except ... the Bytestor is wider than many other flash drives and if (as I have on several occasions) you want to transfer data between the Bytestor and another flash drive, they won't fit alongside each other in the USB ports, because the Bytestor is too fat!! Other than that, a stunningly good product.
