Outdated September 17, 2008 This iPod looked dodgy ever since it came out. It looks more or less a miniature version of the ipod classic. It's just 50 than a classic. This only store 8 GB while classic store 80 GB and it has no extra features whatsoever. Finally the 4th generation is out and that can do things the classic can't so don't buy this.
Easy to use, great to look out and excellent sound September 11, 2008 The iPod nano is gorgeous (both screen display and casing) and works well. It produces a great sound (although I must say that the generic earphones that come with it aren't very good - I swapped mine for a pair of 10 Sennheisers that do a much better job). From what I've seen (though I don't use this feature very much) its video playback is also very sharp.
I've had my nano for a few months now and have had no problems. The controls took a little getting used to (I previously owned a Zen Touch) but it was easy to pick up and I find it very intuitive to use. My only complaint is that I could do with a little more space than 8gb.
Ipod Nano is NOT so good June 15, 2008 12 out of 23 found this review helpful
The ipod nano 3rd generation is a real disappointment. I think most of the reviews written so far have been from people who have only had their ipod for a few days. If you haven't encountered any problems yet I'm sure you will soon because all together I've had 3 ipod nanos and they have all played up and I don't think its a coincedence. At first it works fine as I'm sure everyone will agree but it gets scratched easily, freezes whenever it feels like it and on my current ipod which I have only had for about 2 months the buttons have stopped working and the ipod won't respond. The earphones work fine but apparently break easily as 2 of my friends have told me therefore I think there are more reasons NOT to buy an ipod nano than to buy one. I don't like giving negative reviews but this is the honest truth about the ipods and please DON'T BUY ONE! It's a waste of money and time and I'm going to return mine as soon as I can.
2nd time lucky May 28, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
First one delivered had a faulty screen that flickered with reverse colours and was returned to Amazon for a full refund. The second one fortunately works as intended. Hopefully will provide some stress-busting for my 16YO daughter as she takes some R&R between her exams! As others have said, this is an excellent piece of kit and superbly designed. Don't be put off by iTunes - within a short time you begin to realize it is far superior to Windows Media Player.
Nice pink March 8, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
A nice fashionable item with girls loving the pink, but comes with only a few instructions. Don't connect the iPod to your computer without first downloading the iTunes software, otherwise your PC might crash. Once you have the iTunes software it does everything for you, including any updates to the iPod software. You can upload the mp3 files you have already or rip direct from a CD. Best to buy a cover to keep it shiny and scratch free.
