Product Description
August DA110BD is a multi-functional personal entertainment centre. It is LCD TV, digital Freeview TV receiver, digital radio receiver, high quality tablet DVD player with slot-in disc loader, media player from SD/MS/MMC memory cards and from an external hard disc via USB port, digital photo displayer and widescreen (16:9) high resolution monitor (800x480 pixels) for other media player or a game console. With stylish state-of-the-art design, outstanding picture and sound quality and user friendly features. It becomes an ideal TV and media player for kitchen, bedroom, caravan, boat and travelers. p It can also be connected to a larger screen to output TV, video and digital photos to your home TV.p This model has been voted Top 3 Small Screen TV by Channel 4, is an award winning Portable TV/DVD Player of What Hi-Fi Magazine Sound and Vision Magazine and recommended by ERT Weekly Magazine.p Please note that there may be difficulty to receive Freeview TV signal by the included portable antenna in some areas where the signal is not sufficiently strong at present. This is due to that the Freeview service (freeview.co.uk) in the UK is yet full power broadcasting to support portable TV antenna at present. The reception will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover Program (digitalUK.co.uk). A signal amplifier or booster may improve reception capability in regions where the signal is marginally strong. (Please note that reception capability may also be affected by various factors such as proximity to Freeview TV/digital radio transmitters, tall building structures, thick walls, ceilings and etc.). A rooftop TV aerial may be required to watch Freeview channels in regions where the signal is insufficient for a portable antenna.

5 out of 5 stars Great Quality Product from a Quality Company   November 15, 2008

Fantastic picture quality, which even My Wife (who doesn't notice these things), commented on. br /Mounted in the kitchen, it even gives me more Freeview channels (Due to a sensitive receiver), than my 42 inch TV in the living room, On My roof arial. br /It has features on it as standard that you would expext on a more expensive unit. Operating also as a digital photo frame, working from a memory card, USB memory stick or a disk, with variable delay between pictures. Also the full function DVD, which so fsr ahs played every format I have thrown at it, including AVI and MPG, and Non British films. br /All told, I highly recommend this unit as a "Must Buy", due to it's supremacy over cheaper inferior units. br /Also, My Wife Loves it, and She normally dislikes gadgets, but she uses this every day.

I have incurable renal cancer and bought this little TV to keep me company as I am spending longer confined to bed. It is terrific - but the supplied aerials in the area I live in (south Hertfordshire) are all but useless. However, connection to the house aerial resulted in an excellent picture, and I delight in the ability to play DVDs, CDs and even movies saved on USB memory sticks as AVIs. The picture quality is first class for such a small unit - my wife, who rarely notices these things, even commented on it. If I were to make any complaint it would be that it doesn't allow a slide show with music - but then that is what digital photo frames are for, isn't it? And I have yet to find a way to speed up the display of pictures in a slide show....

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic picture quality for such a little unit   March 5, 2008

This is great unit for the money, the picture quality is unbelievably good. I did struggle to get the freeview channels on the indoor aerial but once connected to the house aerial there was no problem at all. The only thing I would say against it is that if you want to play music DVD's the sound is a little "tinny" and you may be disappointed but as a tv and dvd (film) player it is brilliant. Not only that it looks good too.

I picked this Freeview TV and DVD player after a massive search, it has got quite a number of unique features, which convinced me to go for it, and I am really pleased my choice is right. It has analogue and Freeview tuner built-in, I can get perfect Freeview TVs in my bedroom upstairs using the small antenna supplied, although downstairs in my kitchen the picture is a little bit fuzzy and I have to use the rooftop aerial. The picture quality is brilliant, so does the sound. The multiregion feature plays discs we brought back from States. The TV also has card reader and USB port, so I can view my photos on the TV without my computer. This is a brilliant all-in-one device, and I am really pleased with it. br /
