like some others i had problems with spiderman2 on my ps3. br / br /but i just found some advice which seems to have fixed the issues completely. br / br /load the disc in your ps3, then hold the reset button, then switch back on br / br /worked for me br / br /goodluck br / br /(thanks to zacharooney)

I just wanted to leave a quick comment regarding Spiderman 2. This is by far, my favourite of the 3 Spiderman films. I have to admit when Spiderman 2 came out I thought it was amazing but immediately thought that there was no way Spiderman 3 could be as good. To be honest, I think I was right. Spiderman 3 is good and will entertain, but it's nowhere near as good as Spiderman 2. br / br /Regarding playing Spiderman 2, I also have the 40 GB PS3 model. To be honest I was concerned about whether Spiderman 2 would play or not. I put the disc in and sure enough it did spin around and seem to do nothing for a minute or so. I don't know whether this was because I had watched a normal DVD just a few minutes previously. Anyway I left the Spiderman 2 disc in then after about a minute of it spinning around a message came up on screen saying that some BD content may require an internet connection and did I want to permit that. I select OK and a few seconds later the disc began to play as normal it seems. br / br /I have only tried this once so I don't know if it will happen frequently, also it's a bit worrying that it mentioned needing an internet connection and while most of us have internet access these days, it shouldn't really be necessary to be connected in order to play a dvd. Hopefully it was just a once off and it will play without any problems in the future. br / br /I haven't tried the Spiderman 1 or Spiderman 3 discs yet, but I assume they will play ok as it seems to be Spiderman 2 that everyone is having problems with. I can't believe Sony hasn't fixed the issue. You'd think a PS3 software update would sort it out.

I recently bought the Spiderman Trilogy on Blu Ray and agree with the other peoples comments. I found Spiderman 2 would not read/play on my PS3. Sony should have supplied instructions on how to fix this problem however, I found a solution on my own. I left the disc in the PS3 and rebooted the PS3 with the disc inside then left it a few minutes and then turned it back on again and this corrected the problem and the movie played okay. This is a very good boxset and I would recommend it to anyone the HD and Sound are great and if you follow my instruction you will get your movie to work. Finally I am pleased to say it would appear SOny have fixed the problem and Spiderman 2 now works. If you are connected to the Internet. you need to download the new playstation update. The patch is fine and SPiderman 2 now works on my PS3.
