I bought these cables based soley on reviews on amazon and What HiFi sound and vision. What HiFi have written that these cables' performance, that were selling at 30 at the time of the review, belied their price tag. They also won an award. So I was fully expecting to be blown away by these cables, and to be honest, I'm not. br / br /Don't get me wrong, these cables are a big improvement over freebies any day of the week, but all the hype surrounding these cables seems to me to be a bit out of perspective. I have been using 2 pairs of cheapo, budget Argos Gold plated scarts for Cable and DVD viewing, costing less than a tenner for the pair 3 years ago. In comparison with the THOR these cables are only marginally outperformed by the THOR, so that leads me to think either those cheapo Argos cables were an awesome, underrated bargain, and or the THOR has a bit of a bloated ego. br /I do have screened and braided mains cables and a mains conditioner that have collectively enabled me to squeeze every last drop of performance out of my system so it is a bit of an anti climax that these THOR cables haven't quite lived up to expectations. So I can only give this 3 stars. br /

I cannot compare this product with a lot of others, but it has very clearly brought about a marked noticeable improvement of image quality from a bog standard "budget" SCART cable between an up-scaling DVD player (in combination with HDMI cable) and an LCD TV and I cannot see how the image could get any better than it is now - sharp, vivid, no signs of interference. br /I think it was very well worth the money to bring out the best of the other equipment. br /I bought it from Marketplace seller AVOpro, ordered it Thursday 3pm and it arrived Saturday.

I bought this on the 6th and got it today (So, woohoo for Amazon.co.uk SuperSaver for getting it to me that quickly). br /Firstly I know a few people mention you can feel the quality but this time I really can. br /Plugged it in right away and stuck on Monsters Inc and the picture was sharper and I noticed the music intro was clearer. br / br /5/5

I've had a Philex Thor Scart to Scart for several years now. Like a couple of other reviewers, I was sceptical as to whether this would make any difference. I originally used it to hook up my DVD player to a CRT TV, and watching a few Pixar movies, was absolutely stunned by the improvement in picture quality. I still use the same cable now, admittedly the CRT TV has been replaced by an LCD TV, but the image quality is still there. A great buy.
