A Great No Fuss Solution May 27, 2007 Elvis P (North, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This neat little retracting audio cable is the perfect accessory when interfacing your iPod with your car stereo (via LINE in/AUX in). No unsightly, dangling leads to worry about and no ear-splitting sudden volume changes when returning from iPod play back to radio. br / br /I guess the only down side to this device is that it utilises the iPod's battery recharging socket which means that listening to your tracks whilst br /charging your battery is now out the window. Still, from what the other reviewers are saying on this page it seems the audio output is of much better quality then opting for the conventional headphone line out, however I've yet to confirm this. br / br /Again, similar to the last reviewer, I'm giving it 4 stars as I've only had it a week and I've been let down plenty of times in the past with various audio cables and their somewhat limited life expectancy... br / br /Upon first impressions I'm lead to believe I should give the Zipling the benefit of the doubt in the longevity stakes. br / br /
Excellent February 20, 2007 Ms. H. R. Hughes (Milton Keynes, UK) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
I purchased this item having previously used a lead with a 3.5mm jack on each end to connect my iPod to the stereo in my car and my recently purchased hi-fi. To use this I had to turn the volume on the iPod up to full and increase the volume on the stereo also. br / br /With the Zip-Linq it is not necessary to turn up any of the volume's and the sound quality is much better. br / br /My concern was compatibility, which is what has prompted me to write this review. According to the packaging, this product is compatible with iPod Nano, Mini, 20G, 40G, Photo and Video. br / br /I hope that helps!
Perfect for my iPod video ... far better than headphone out July 27, 2006 J. P. Bolet (UK) 31 out of 31 found this review helpful
I'm using the ipod dock to 3.5mm jack ZipLinq cable with the aux input on my Mini Cooper, and it is definitely a big improvement over the standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm headphone cable I was using before. Previously I had to max my ipod volume if I wanted the output volume to balance with the radio and CD player, this was inconvenient and seemed to dull the sound a little and add noise ... now the dock connector has a good strong output level, and changing the volume on the ipod is not neccesary (and indeed has NO effect). The hot signal gives clean sound and, to my ears at least, sounds much better than headphone output. I would recommend giving up on the headphone jack and go for one of these. br / br /I can't yet vouch for how the retracting mechanism holds up to continued use, but it doesn't feel flimsy. I'll give it 4 stars on initial impressions ... consider it 5 stars if no unreasonable failure is reported!
