4 out of 5 stars Good DVD player, lousy MP3 player   August 6, 2008
A. J. Rixon (Pontypridd, Wales)
Great little player for the price, but one caveat: if you insert an MP3 CD or DVD containing multiple folders, it will only play the contents of one subfolder at a time before stopping; i.e. it won't simply "play all".

4 out of 5 stars nice little runner   August 1, 2008

this dvd player is great for someone who wants a no fuss basic one size fits all player. It is easy to turn to multi region, Kalpesh's insructions are spot on. picture quality is good, and it appears to play anything you care to throw at it. Its also reasonably fast loading, unlike some in this price range that take forever. br /I bought this for my bedroom as i wasnt meithered about having an all singing all dancing player there, and its nice and neat. br /Job done. br /I rated it a 4 as it is not already region freed, and the remote is a bit boxy and hasnt got a volume control.

4 out of 5 stars Great price for a great little player!   August 1, 2008

I was rather concerned about buying this Player as if the hack had not worked my son's Ben 10 Dvd would have been useless and my son very upset! The hack worked like a dream though. I used the hack in the reviews and initially nothing happened. I was expecting some kind of prompt but nothing came. You simply put the code in blind and a screen appears with the current region code. Very happy and alls peaceful here for 241 minutes!

5 out of 5 stars Cheap and surprisingly good quality.   July 27, 2008

After my last DVD died, I wanted to wait until Blu-Ray players came down in price and so I bought this cheap Philips DVD as an interim measure. It is incredibly good for the price and I cannot find a problem with it: playback quality is excellent, the remote is fine, it is simple to use, and converts to multi-region without a hitch (as others have noted below). I wish my last - far more expensive DVD - had been as good. If you don't need anything fancy, this is a no-brainer: just get one.

I wanted a cheap multi-region DVD player to take the workload off the old and faithful one I got some years ago. I ordered this from Cheapest Electrical on Saturday, got an e-mail on Monday saying that it was despatched and got it Tuesday!! Came in it's own box, well wrapped up with instructions, RC etc. br /Set it up in minutes and I chucked in one of my U.S. NBA DVD's and it played straight away!! I didn't need Kalpesh's code at all and I was really impressed. It's a great little unit!!
