5 out of 5 stars Great little gadget   June 19, 2008

What to say - it does exactly what it says on the tin - smaller than I thought from the photo so I guess it would be easy to lose and as someone else said already Remember to go into the `Shooting Mode' option in your camera menu and select one of the remote control modes!. br / br /But it works flawlessly with my D40 though you do need to be in front or to the side of it for the sensor to work.

Really useful, especially in bulb mode. Works perfectly with a D40. The only improvement I can think of would be to be able to use it from behind the camera (wildlife photography etc.) hence the 4 not 5 stars. Apart from that, a great purchase!

Yes It's a remote control for these cameras, but it's an infra-red shutter release and no more. So if you were expecting to to be able to change settings forget it. Frankly the feel is what you might expect from an up-market christmas cracker but at the price it is worth it.

Really quite impressed with this gadget. First of all, I was surprised at how compact it was. Really easy to use once you set the camera - "custom setting" then "shooting mode" gets you there. Very happy with the devices operation - does exactly what it's meant to. Secondly, it is quite easy to conceal the unit in your hand whilst pressing the button (great for self portraits) or there is the option of a three second delay. Every Nikon photographer should have one of these!

Got this to go with my new D40X and am very impressed. You press the button, it makes the camera take a picture! What more could you ask?!
