5 out of 5 stars worth every penny   September 5, 2008
Mr. A. Chali (UK, Derby)
now i am no expert when it comes to earphones; so when i bought these i compared them to my old sony earphones which cost me 5 pounds. its fair to say that these are way better, the sound it very clear and the bass is amazin. i recieved the earphones 24 hours after placing the order which is pretty impressive delivery. i recommend to any one looking for good quality earphones at a low price.

3 out of 5 stars Cracking sound though poor build quality   September 4, 2008
B. J. Moloney (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK)
For a while now I've been looking for the ideal set of earphones that will be comfortable, hard wearing, good value for money and have decent sound quality. These set of phones tick three of this criteria. For the price they are very good value I have to admit, though two sets I've bought have failed on me. Admittedly I am a regular user of phones so it could be the way I've inadvertently treated them when I've had them. In the latest instance the phone jack end has loosened so I can only get dual channel sound by twisting the wire in one particular position which is becoming annoying now. What is good is the sound quality for under a tenor. They ship with 3 sizes of ear bud which is always handy and they are always available. In summary I can only recommend them if you are a light user of your portable audio device and want to pay under or around a tenor.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent, but with one major drawback...   September 2, 2008

I echo "steveg from fareham"'s review of these earphones. I've just bought a 80GB iPod Classic and wanted some better quality earphones (although the ones supplied with the iPod are surprisingly good). I tried a set of Shure SE110s (for about 60) on my old Creative MP3 player after my Sony 'phones fell apart, but returned them as they sounded terrible. I'm now sure it was because I was not fitting them properly. The numpty at Currys digital wasn't aware of this - he should have been IMO. Anyhow, when you fit the EP-630s in your ear properly they are UNBELIEVABLY good for the money. They still would be if they cost 40, but for 8 quid they are ridiculously good. The bass response is terrific. I ride a motorbike and wear earplugs, and you fit the EP-630s like you fit earplugs - not at right angles to the side of your head (when they will sound tinny and terrible) but up and into your ear canal at an angle of about 30 degrees. You know they're fitted properly when most outside sound is cut out. You can also try moistening your ear canal with a bit of (your own!) saliva, as this helps to create an airtight seal. But there is a downside. I use my iPod almost exclusively while at the gym. When the EP-630s are worn on the treadmill, I can feel every footstep booming in my ears, ruining the sound. I think this is unavoidable due to the design. As a result I cannot use them at the gym, and can only use them on the train etc. Creative should make this clear, but they don't, so beware. I can therefore only give them 4 stars as they are not fit for the purpose I bought them for.

3 out of 5 stars short lived excellence   August 29, 2008
B. Foster (London)
As an awful lot of otherpeople have already stated about this product, they give excellent sound quality and are excellent for blocking out peripheral noise (excellent for London Buses!) BUT! they seem to have such a ridiculously short lifespan. I've had mine for little over a month and am already experiencing a similar problem to many other users whereby the sound in the right ear-piece cuts out frequently. You can fix this by wiggling around the jack but this is an exercise in frustration as it clearly loses sound again. br / br /In short 5 stars for product when working, 1 star for longevity!
