Best mp3 earphones bar none July 31, 2008 M. J. Petrie (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are the best earphones I have ever owned, and I have owned lots of them. The bass from these is unbelievable and way beyond anything I was expecting even after reading the reviews for them. Hooked up to a decent mp3 player, such as Creative's own Creative Muvo T100 4GB MP3 Player, you get more than enough bass for anyones taste. I put the ep630's in as an ideal replacement for the standard ones when I reviewed the above mp3 player and I do not have to go back on my recommedation, do not waste your money on a more expensive pair unless you've got money to burn. Simply put get these, you will not be dissapointed. The only thing I would say is read the excellent fitting hints given by other reviewers, they will make sure you get the maximum from these little wonders.
2 months lifespan for 7 incl delivery doesn't pay off.. July 29, 2008 Marco Schilling (London) Like many others I have the same problem with the right earpiece dying after a couple of months. If you use them and put them in your pocket the cheap wire quality will soon succumb to the daily usage. So, after all, the sound quality is up there with the more expensive models of sennheiser or sony but the durability is definitely much worse than other models. Great price, good sound quality, but not built for walking and bending.
No Midrange July 27, 2008 S. D. Finlay +comfortable +loud -almost no midrange at all. completely overpowered by the bass. -minor 'cable noise,' typical of the style Would've been 5 stars but the midrange is so noticably absent they scrape 3/5. They're probably good for pop, hip hop and electronic but for metal they're really poor.
Worthy investment ;) July 25, 2008 Kaz I was on the lookout for a cheap pear of headphones that i could take on travels and not worry about too much if they got lost, so picked up a pair of Creative Labs EP-630/A as they seem to fit the bill. Boy was i surprised when not only did they offer a cheap alternative to the more expensive models from Sony and Sennheiser but they also surpassed my regular use "Sennheiser CX500" in both affordability and quality of output. Overall a well worth investment..
good BUT! July 24, 2008 Jam89 (Sheff, uk) im on my second pair of these earphones, the first pair i purchased from amazon about 3 years ago, i didnt really treat them very well, im a student, they've been chucked in the bottom of my bag, tangled with other things, and they've only just broke.... my longest lasting pair of earphones ever. ive just purchased some more, the sound quality is a bit more tin-ie compared to the last pair.. and im a bit concerned about the quality of the wire. it seems thinner and cheaper, and the actually earphone feels lighter and cheaper. im going to see how they go. hopefully they will last as long as my last pair. i would definatly recommend these over other more expensive earphones.
