I moved from the US to the UK and needed a player for both regions. Found this gem online, placed my order, and received the item within two business days. Played my region 1 (US) DVD immediately without system set-up or anything. Quick and easy hookup, plays DVDs without fault. Only issue I had was that the picture was originally in black & white, which was solved quickly with instructions in the Troubleshooting section of the manual.

I've been looking for a divx player for a while now, and wanted one with multi region capability also. I eventually bought this dvd player from amazon.co.uk, as it was clearly labelled 'multi region'.
Reading the reviews on amazon, some said it was multi region straight out of the box. For me, when putting any other region dvd other than 2, it played in black and white. After a bit of research, and thinking I'd have to fork out more money to get the box chipped, I discovered the problem. The dvd player is multi region, but my tv was not understanding the video format of the region 1 disc. A simple solution I discovered is simply to change the colour settings on the dvd menu (when there is no disc in it) to RGB.
Having achieved this, I am now a very happy customer! All region discs now play in full colour, as do divx formats, CD-RW etc.
On top of the function, the box is a sleek looking player. Very slim and very pretty. I got it for a fantastic price. Definitely recommended!

There's a number of conflicting reviews regarding this product - this is mainly concerning the player's multi region capabilities. I have to say, now that I actually have one, I can confirm that this is a 100% multi region player - mine plays both my region 1 and region 3 discs without a problem. In fact, for 35 this player is a bargain - if your current player has packed up or is about to do so, then this machine is an excellent interim purchase until Blu Ray players become more affordable. I've tried all types of media on mine DivX; +R; +RW; -R; -RW - it even plays my Dual Layer 8.5Gb discs! A sleek looking machine that is outstanding value and from a top brand as well - I've awarded this 5 outta 5 simply based on features provided at such a low price - highly recommended!

I HAVE TO SAY I HAVE BOUGHT 3 DVD PLAYERS WHICH I WAS TOLD THAT IT PLYERD REGION 1 AND THEY DIDNT,JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I DIDNT BUY THEM FROM AMOZON THEY WERE BOUGHT FROM A STORE.AND I HAD TO RETURN THEM.
GOT TO SAY AM SO PLEASED WITH THIS DVD PLAYER JUST PLUGED IT IN AND AWAY I WENT ITS A GREAT BUY.
