5 out of 5 stars Very Impressed   October 10, 2008
Mr. Christopher Gould (Bucks, England)
I received this within a week of ordering it (super saver free delivery) so cant complain there. Very easy to set up, no messing about, plug it in and you are ready to go. I was very impressed with the sound that came out of it, even at a high volume the sound is still crisp and clear, no distortion. It looks great aswell, sleak and simple, nothing fancy. Overall for what you pay for it it is a wonderful bit of kit. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Pipsqueak!   October 1, 2008
Nancy Pink-Poodle (Nottingham, UK)
This docking station is so good I've bought two. br / br /I'm not massively into my technology but I bought an ipod and needed some speakers. I had no problems assembling the unit and didn't even need to consult the instructions (a tiny victory for me). br / br /The sound quality is excellent at both low and high volume and I cannot express in words my joy at how neatly it all fits together (the remote can be slotted onto the docking thingy) . If this had a DAB radio I think I would cry. br / br /Easy to use, sounds great, looks smart. br /

4 out of 5 stars Amazing sound and really stylish   September 12, 2008
Andrew Poolton
The picture does not do it justice, it looks really stylish and is slick looking. You can leave it out and it dose blend in nicely (i.e. does not stick out like a stereo). br / br /The sound quality to brilliant (especially the louder it gets), I would highly recommend this. br /

3 out of 5 stars OK, but not in the same league as Apples iPod HiFi unit   September 10, 2008

Perhaps naively, I somehow hoped this would be as good as my Apple HiFi (that white cabinet speaker Apple were pushing a while back). Sadly it isn't. Perhaps the fact that the iPod HiFi was over 200, and this was under 40 should have been a clue. Still, to be objective ... Build seems OK, not fantastic, but solid and looks quite nice. The device behind the iPod that they use for supporting iPods of different thicknesses is a nice idea, but poorly executed, the worst bit of the whole unit in fact. On mine its very loose and doesn't stay where you set it very well. The remote works, but is a bit temperamental, it likes to be pointed directly at the unit, and it feels cheap. I get a bit of hiss which you can hear when the unit is on but idle, and when you are playing stuff at low volume. Its not there all the time, but it is definitely present (I'm suspicious it hisses when the iPod screen is lit). In general I find the sound a little bit tinny, and songs lack a bit of depth, however I wouldn't say that it sounded bad, it is perfectly listenable. A big thumbs up for incorporating the DC transformer into the unit and not having one as part of the power lead. Video out a bonus I suppose, but I doubt I will ever use it. Overall I would sum it up as OK, not great, but perfectly functional and generally OK. At 40, a good buy for your office or bedroom, but steer clear if you are looking for something really nice sounding for your lounge. Three stars may seem a little low, but compared to my wonderful sounding iPod HiFi which essentially does the same thing (all be it at a much higher cost) I can't justify a higher rating.
