KDL32S3000 Wow! and so cheap too. March 20, 2008 I. Gawler (Canterbury Kent) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Having looked at several makes and models, Samsung, LG and Phillips the Sony is head and shoulders above them, my brother in law has samsung and sound is not as good but picture is as good as in my opinion. If your budget will stretch the D series 100Htz does have a better picture quality but you do pay for this. The S series picture quality, sound, build quality, ease of operation, makes this a top quality bit of kit and has it all. I bought it direct from Amazon and it was at least 200 cheaper than any high street outlet could get near even after haggling. I ordered it Tuesday PM it arrived Thursday AM faultless service as well as being cheaper than anyone i visited. The other thing that really sold me was having the ability to turn it off rather than put it on stanby and the fact that the buttons are on the top so the kids cannot touch them. Tiny gripe is that the picture format adjusts itself when you turn over from wide to 4.3 too much and i have to keep switching it to suit me as i like the picture to fill the viewable screen at all times but i'm just being picky. This telly will not dissapoint it is first class.
Worth every penny March 19, 2008 R. Cook (Hertfordshire) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ok so there are onther tv's at lower prices but to get a Sony for under 500 is great. This product is easy to set up and has many options to alter so you can get it just they way you want. There is a 'Theatre' setting that alters the picture and sound (and any supported sony equipment) so that it give you an experience closer to what the film makers intended. There are plenty of connections with an impressive 3 HDMI ports making this a long term use item. It also looks good - simple design with no anoying bits to distract your veiwing. For thoe of you who use your TVs to listen to radio there is a nice little screen save - ok not a key selling point but amusing for a few minutes. br / br /The only warning I give it this - if you are going to attatch a PVR (ie another Freeview receiver) be ready to adjust you UHF offset channel on your PVR - mine was conflicting with the internal TV digital tuner - so if you get bad picture when using a PVR don't run out and buy boosters and stuff until you have checked this out - there are site around who can help you if you search. This is not the fault of the TV so don't let it put you off - it only takes a couple of moments to sort. br / br /All in all this was one of the best purchases i have made add to the fact that it was delivered with Amazon's usual speed and high service..
Gamers HD film fans should check out the KDL32D3000 as well! March 19, 2008 James B. Spink (Kent, UK) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
This is a great TV at the price, and I fully agree with all the positive comments from the other reviewers. However, recently the price differential between this "S" model and the next in range KDL32D3000 has reduced by quite a margin. br / br /If you check the reviews for the KDL32D3000 here on Amazon and you will find another group of very happy customers! You may find that the extra features of the "D" model are now worth the extra money. br / br /The two models are very similar feature wise, so I'll summarize briefly what you get extra with the "D" version. Firstly full HD 1080p, and a 24p input, although 1080p will not be used for broadcasting in the foreseeable future many connectible devices can output this standard now. For gamers and Blu Ray HD film fans it might be worth thinking about whether this is important to you. It also has the Motionflow 100Hz feature for greater smoothness of fast moving pictures - good for sports fans! Also picture in picture and auto 16:9. br / br /There is also a big improvement in sound features - virtual surround sound and optical digital output amongst them. The Sony website allows direct comparison between models and all the minor differences can be checked there, if required. br / br /So all in all the KDL32S3000 is a great TV which most people would be completely happy with, but a few might feel that the extra money would be well spent for the extra features of the "D" version. br / br /In case you were wondering Sony now assemble these sets in Slovakia since they stopped production of CRT sets in Wales. I suppose it keeps the price down.
