5 out of 5 stars Nice TV, nice picture   June 7, 2008

I have had this since about September 07, and paid about 280 for it which I thought was good. (I didn't get it from Amazon). br / br /This is a great telly with good colour. Sound, as with other LCDs is not as good as old style TVs due to the lack of space for large speakers. br / br /All the documentation I read before buying said that I'd have to buy a wall mounting kit separately. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found a wall mounting plate in the box. The base folds back and hooks onto the supplied metal plate that you screw onto the wall. I don't know if I was just lucky or whether everyone gets one. br / br /The one downside (but not enough for me to downgrade my star rating) is the time it takes to change channels. br /After pressing a channel on the remote it takes over a second for the TV to change channel, then takes over 2 more seconds to decode the digital signal. In all it takes about 4s to change channel. The first delay can be removed by using P+/P-. Anyway, this is only a minor point and just takes getting used to. The tv also reacts slowly to moving up and down on the channel list, and you can't skip a page at a time. br / br /I would definitely get another Samsung. They are also cheaper to other brands but seem just as good to me.

4 out of 5 stars great but not perfect   April 19, 2008

Bought this tv a few weeks ago after A LOT of research, price versus quality being main considerations. Very happy with screen quality and sounds much better than expected - there is a surround sound setting which adds a lot to the bass and takes away that tinny quality. Lots of people describe a 19" screen as 'bedroom' size - we sit about 8-10' away and we're not straining! But then again, I don't want to be dominated by tv and used a portable 14" prior to this! However, be warned, 1. the one scart annoyed me as I wanted to be able to record via video and watch terrestrial while recording - with one scart YOU CAN'T DO THIS. I called samsung and they talked about scart extensions and complicated wiring procedures - at which point I gave up and ordered a Goodmans twin tuner hard disk recorder - this has done the trick - now I can record 2 programmes at once and still watch 3rd channel on TV (what a saddo!) 2. The remote is slow and gets frustrating as you keep pressing thinking it hasn't registered and then find out you've gone past the channel you wanted! However, all in all an excellent product for the price and good looking too!

Very impressed and pleased with the TV. Excellent value for money and picture quality. br / br /It is also great that it comes with its own wall mounting kit.

I bought this TV a few weeks back and I think that it looks and sounds great. I do, however, have a few questions... Is there a wall bracket on the market that means that the TV can be moved to side to side? As the one that it comes with just allows you to move it slightly up and down, and its flat to the wall! br /Also when you go into the menu and change the energy saving settings, and turn that annoying blue light off, half an hour later the settings reset again, does this happen to anyone else? If so, can anything be done do you know? I hope that somebody can help me with these questions! br /Although I have mentioned the minor problems above, these are just personal issues, and there's nothing wrong with the TV in general, and so I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone looking for a smaller TV for a bedroom, for example.
