5 out of 5 stars Best external I've ever had, it has a very efficient size and transfer rate however the encryption software wasn't too helpful.   October 24, 2008

Best external I've ever had, it has a very efficient size and transfer rate however the encryption software on it wasn't too helpful but overall a very robust piece of hardware.

I got this passport drive about a month ago and I am almost using this regularly. Its very useful and handy. Rarely this drive is getting lost from the system drives list, after refreshing the system it came back again. Though the transfer speed is bit slow, still its worth having it.

That's about all I have to say - I love it! br / br /I've bought a couple for work - makes it very easy for me to carry stuff back and forward, and having just one cable makes it even more useful.

3 out of 5 stars WD fall short on product support   October 15, 2008
A. Redgrove (UK)
I bought mine some months ago. Worked right away no issue which was ideal as this was my backup solution for important data. Almost full, the drive began to falter. Disappearing off the explorer window and reappearing to then repeat the whole process once more. I should mention this occured on the same PC so no power issues i think. Reporting the issue to WD for some support advice i receive a rapid reply six weeks later. - A satisfaction survey ! - Thankfully my main data is still accessible. I have since bought a more capacious and cheaper fujitsu unit.
