Wonderful peice of kit at an amazing price August 14, 2007 R. M. Creasey 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
A wonderful piece of kit. Installed initially on XP without any problems br /but couldn't pick up any channels with mini aerial. Plugged into main aerial and bingo 30 chans.(I'm 46 miles from the transmitter and my main aerial is not High gain)Getting crystal clear, smooth images. br / br /On request Gizmo-Deals emailed me the Vista driver, once extracted and loaded, Intallation on Vista was no trouble and works perfectly. br / br /One thing I found when scanning for channels was if you selected England as the region, no channels were found. Select Universal and Auto which searches across the entire spectrum (Sutton Coldfield 634000Khz-714000KHz). br / br /I highly recommend this Dongle and the Blaze software
Cant get any channels August 14, 2007 B. Monteith (Lincoln) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I did all the installation and set up in about five minutes no problem. However i cant get any channels. Do i need to connect the aerial to a tv in the same room as the dongle in the pc?
Good value for money August 13, 2007 S. Xu 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a pretty good TV receiver and excellent value considering its cost (remember to factor in delivery costs). br / br /Firstly the bad points: The USB dongle is not truly plug and play as it does require a driver. For some reason the driver had to be installed every time i plugged in th tuner but some manual driver copying quickly sorted that out. Also, the dongle runs very hot when in use which has not caused any problems but I am slightly concerned about its lifespan given it will probably heat up more as it gets older. br / br /However the good: I am able to receive plenty of channels at high quality and with minimal stuttering - with the supplied mini antenna. The software supplied is very easy to use and easy on the eye (unlike that of a famous competitor). Please do note that the software comes on a mini (3 inch) CD which is unsuitable for slot-loaded DVD players - I simply copied the contents to USB stick to use. br / br /All in all its a very useful accessory that does its job well with some minor niggles which are easy to get over
Very big value for such a small price August 7, 2007 Daniel Ferak (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have to use my aerial, otherwise I don't get a signal, but the picture quality is nice and I've got lot of programms. I don't like the supplied software though as it allways override the power settings on my laptop (with Vista) to defaults.
