5 out of 5 stars An excellent buy   September 18, 2008
Got these headphones to go with the Apple ipod classic 80GB in black. They are really good value for money.

I felt I needed to buy something better than the standard headphones that come supplied with the Apple ipod in terms of fit and sound quality.

These ones are great because they come with different pads so that you can find the right one that fits more comfortably inside your ear. Also, because they give you a better fit, you are less likely to disturb people when using them and the music sounds better because they are a better fit. I would say that this is a good price for something that to me gives me everything I am looking for in earphones. I think that you could possibly spend more money on something even better but this price bracket just for headphones for me is sufficient to give the basic requirements, reasonable sound and fit. Also I wouldn't like to spend too much more on something that might easily have to be replaced if it accidently gets pulled or damaged in any other way.

I hope my review will convince you that it is a nice buy.

5 out of 5 stars 'Ere, ear...   September 18, 2008
I got these earphones because the ones that came with my Creative MP3 player fell to bits after 2 years fairly light use. However, I wish I'd replaced them much earlier because the sound quality with these is soooo much better. before on my walk to and from work the traffic noise often obscured what I was listening to - but not any more and now I'm able to listen at lower volume. They provide a natural, well-balanced sound that works well with all kinds of music, they are comfortable and don't slip out of your ear. What more can you ask for from earphones?

1 out of 5 stars Spend your money elsewhere   September 17, 2008

Whilst the sound quality is good enough, the earphones themselves are so cheaply made that they WILL FALL APART. My first pair lasted six months before I had to superglue them together and then lasted another six months, which at the time I thought was okay considering how inexpensive they are. The second (and last)pair however didn't even last two months. The earphones literally fall apart, the metal rim seems to be attached with something weaker than post-it note glue, and once this happens the delicate wires simply have no chance of staying in place. This happened with both pairs. DO NOT BUY THESE, spend a bit more on something that will last longer.

4 out of 5 stars excellent ear phones for the price   September 17, 2008
This is my second pair of creative earphones as i think the sound quality is excellent for the price.(3.99 fom mbocho amazon marketplace).just ensure you fit them in your ear correctly. They are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time(over 8 hours on a long haul flight)The only negative thing is the cable is weak at the headphone jack and can be damaged. My first pair lost sound in the left speaker after 2 years use 5 days a week and removing earphone from player everytime.Just be more careful than me with the cable and you wont have to pay 4 every 2 year.I still recommend these earphones even with the cable problem

3 out of 5 stars Good sound, poor build quality, loud handling/cable noise   September 17, 2008
I bought these earphones on the strength of the review below - and by the way, the tip about how to put the earphones in properly really helped. That & making sure you have the right size earpieces.

Great sound quality (and i'm really picky because i'm a musician), nice strong bass response, and a pretty efficient speaker in the earphone. All in all, I liked it. Oh, and 3 different sized buds to find the best one for you are included.

However, they didn't last too long as one of the earpieces fell apart where the metal band joins the speaker of the earpiece onto the back end of the earpiece where it meets the wire. To me, this smacks of poor design. A one-section earpiece would not have split in two like this.

My other complaint is that there is a high handling noise whenever I touch the cable. It's fine if you're just lying there, not moving, or have loud music on, but not otherwise.

A similar pair of Sony earphones had a cable shaped like a small y, rather than a capital Y that these are (if you see what I mean), and therefore had strain relief for the earpiece & cable coming off the main cable. This meant handling noise was much reduced.

For the money, I can't complain. Good sound quality, and as long as you don't mind the handling noise, they'll do you well.
