Great product and great service June 13, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
The tv arrived before I hoped to receive it (amazon gave me an estimated dispatch and delivery time I was still able to get the tv with Super Saver Delivery three days after I placed the order!). It's never been easier to install a tv as I did with this! It took me no more than three minutes to watch all channels (as I don't have external aerial I just connected in the scart sockets the satellite receiver and the cable box). I swithched than on menu by scrolling down to the external outputs than just clicked on AV1 and AV2). Bright colours, good watching from any angles. Absolutely delighted with it.
Just what Ive been looking for! May 31, 2008 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
If, like me, you are spending time researching for the right television, you are on a budget and you pretty much want the TV now - then I would say, stop here and buy this one. Firstly, right now, its doubtful you will find this model cheaper anywhere else. Secondly, if you are looking for a 32" LCD, HD Ready with Freeview, then really, dont waste anymore timing looking about as this one will definately do. There are so many different Sony models, and then you have the other brands - you can spend so much time looking around, when really, that time could be better spent watching TV :) Whatever happens, in a weeks time, there is always something better, something cheaper ...
I needed something to replace my old flat screen TV and for the price, the quality you get with this model is fantastic. It looks good, its cheap, so easy to set up, the picture and sound quality is great - overall I am completely impressed.
Plus, the TV turned up exactly when Amazon said it would. If you read anywhere that City Link do not deliver on a Saturday, then thats not true. Its Saturday today and my TV arrived this morning :)
Disappointing May 19, 2008 27 out of 29 found this review helpful
Had this for just over a week now. Viewing angle (horizontal) is very poor - I'd say +/- 30 degrees MAX. If you are outside this angle, faces take on a distinctly over-pink hue and significant contrast is lost. After much furniture moving in the lounge, we have a just about acceptable picture, but inconvenient furniture layout! Viewing straight-on the picture is OK on some sources, but rubbish on others viz TV news and most nature progs are fine, but most soaps look terrible (unwatchable to me, just as well I don't like soaps). Severe pixellation of the image is common, and "fuzzy round the edges", which I don't get from a picture on a PC LCD monitor. I think I was happier with our ancient 21" CRT TV - much more natural pictures. Text and subtitles etc look great, as there are no convergeance errors. The same for cartoons (Simpsons). Sound is good, compared to some I have heard, with no buzzing or rattling. Remote has to be pointed directly at the TV sensor, or pointed at the ceiling for any response from the TV. This is tiresome. The EPG is nowhere near as useful or good as my 16 Freeview box, and the channel info etc takes about a third of the TOP of the screen, instead of the bottom. Lots of direct inputs but slow in selection, as you have to scroll down a menu till you get to the right one (remembering you have to be pointing the remote at the correct angle!). Also, they are labelled AV1,2,3 etc instead of Scart 1,2 and HDMI 1,2 etc which would be far more useful. It should have been easy enough to have a system which detected automatically which direct input was active when not in TV mode. Sometimes it would not detect that an HDMI input was connected (and active).
Update: Contacted Amazon about the faults and to their credit they said I could return the TV for a replacement or refund. I chose refund. This was all handled very professionally by Amazon who picked up the TV and refunded within 4 days! I'm going to buy a Panasonic TX32LMD70 instead, which has MUCH better viewing angle.
absolute bargain May 6, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
what can i say! a sony bravia 32 inch tv for 399 pounds-the set up was litrally plug and play-and the picture and sound quality is excellent.apart from the product itself,i feel i must congrtulate amazon on their service-the matching stand (another bargain i might add)arrived in just 2 days and the tv in 4.
WOW! what a difference a Sony makes May 2, 2008 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I used to own an Orion 32" LCD with 1200:1 contrast ratio and the set suffered badly from ghosting when I was watching blue ray DVDS. The picture was clear but something just didn't sit right.
I saw this TV and thought that 400 for a Sony LCD TV was a deal not to be missed and as a result brought the TV. The TV arrived yesterday and the difference was amazing. The picture is crisp and clear and perfect for blu rays on a PS3.
The sound quality I found to be way above average sets. To be honest if you are used to mind shaking bass then this TV won't exactly make the house rumble but for a living room TV 32" Sony you could do alot worse. Buy it now before this dissapears for good.
