I just to like say that camera is awesome, everything you wanted from a Canon Ixus however when you come to upload images and connect USB, it does not like the software. More like VISTA issues again. This is a big shame as this camera is so easy to use and I cant fault anything else.

I recently retired my old camera, a Sony Cybershot P73, which was 3 years old and was pretty good. I had been looking at a Panasonic Lumix which was impressive, but this one was very tempting but the price initially wasn't. I was shown what these cameras could do by a Canon rep and it looked like I would fork out the extra. Fortunately the price dropped down recently (and has dropped since I bought it too! D'oh!) so I decided to get one. br / br /The Start-up has a little lag on it, but the pictures it produces are amazing. I took a picture of my housemate using face detection and it looks good, makes him look better! The extra effects also look cool and I will have a play in due course. br / br /The video is great too and the software is a lot more useful than the Sony software with the old one (which I had long given up on!) The Pictbridge isn't too bad either, works nicely with my Canon printer! br / br /The feature I love best, other than the amazing sharpness of the LCD screen, is when you tilt the Camera in playback mode from landscape to portrait angle and back, the picture automatically shifts so you can see it properly!! br / br /The build quality is also excellent and am confident it will last me as long as or longer than my Sony!

My Nikon Coolpix bought a few years ago stopped downloading so I surfed the Net for another. I wanted one with a view finder and small enough to go in my pocket. I read the reviews here and ordered one and the reviews are dead right. It's a quality product that's easy to use and takes great pictures. On the Coolpix you couldn't see the preview screen in moderate sunlight which is why I wanted one with a viewfinder but I needn't have bothered as the Canon screen is visible in bright sunlight but the viewfinder does underline the quality of this little camera.

What a great little camera the Canon Ixus 70 is, I found it very easy to use, and after checking out lots of other cameras this one feels a lot more solid and robust. Well done Canon.

I bought this camera after owning Sony Cyberspace w30 (which after only a year started playing up and freezing!) and I must say that I am very taken with the design and the ease of use. I did not use the simple manual and tinkered with it (start up time is very fast) and found that within half an hour I had mastered the basic functions. The screen is a delight- the slide show is good - you can take video and zoom in or out during recording! the macro facility is superb - I took some great close ups of flowers and plants. The ability to reduce red eye after to picture is taken is good as is the function to tint the picture with a colour of your choice. The battery life is very good too. Last not least - the body itself is beautiful - it's a design classic and I would not be without it!
