This is only a dicer for certain foods. I wanted to save preparation time when cooking my baby's food but in order to dice a carrot, for example, you first have to chop it into thick slices (which isn't really saving time) rather than putting half a carrot into the dicer which just gives small strips. So I had to then chop the strips myself into cubes which defeats the object of a Dicer. br /Good for onion and tomato. br /Glad I didn't pay 30 for it.

This is easily the best kitchen gadget I've got. I use it all the time to make salads, chop onions etc. As long as your veg are fresh (it doesn't like onions that aren't crisp, for example), it chops perfectly in one movement and everything is collected in the container so there's no mess. And you can put the container in the fridge as it's got a lid. Even tomatoes can be chopped as long as you cut them in half first and put them skin side down, cut side facing you. If it doesn't get right through an onion (cut half at a time) in one go, take off a couple of the layers and cut them separately. Herbs, spring onions, salad veg, cucumber (to dice, cut into cm thick slices and pile up on the cutter) - all diced minutely and to perfection. I love it!!!

I am really surprised by the many negative comments regarding the Nicer Dicer Product. I was so impressed when I purchased my JML Nicer Dicer from Woolworths that I have now bought one for all my friends and family who love it too. It makes the most wonderful professional looking salads and works ferfectly time after time. All I did was follow the instruction - Use small pieces - skin side down always for onions and peppers etc - use quality firm tomatoes and quarter them first for brilliant salsa and keep rinsing the blades to keep them wet! Its so easy to wash, just removing the round disk through the grid removes most if not all pieces and the rest simply rinses away! My only advice would be to make sure when you buy the Nicer Dicer that it says JML on the box, if it doesn't it may be a cheap import from china and not the high quality European model, which may be why so many people are having problems and others love its simplicity, quality and Brilliant results! So don't go cheap and get what you expect - fantastic, consistent results every time! I for one think its the best kitchen tool out there for making dicing everything as easy as ABC!
