As someone who lives next door to Romford Hospital I can tell you that it's all true. Weirdness is all around.

Have the brains of the majority suddenly been excavated and destroyed? I've actually read reviews of 'Darkplace' by Americans and Australians who actually believe the series was A: Supposed to have been real drama; B: That it was genuinely made in the 1980s; C: Garth Marenghi is a bonafide novelist. My goodness, what's wrong with these people?! They're actually commenting on the poor quality of the show, the acting, and every aspect of bad film-making that this series satirised. One reviewer even commented upon their confusion as to which 80s show it was mocking. Come on people, remove thy skulls from thy posteriors and try not to be too American! Dark Place is a spoof of both the B-movie (which many would argue is a spoof in itself), the horror genre, and the questionable styles, culture, and sub-cultures of the 1980s. That's it, really.

I loved this series from the opening episode. Its a crime Darkplace never got a second series. If you like to laugh buy this series, if you dont like to laugh go and buy a documentary about farming or something.
