Small but perfectly formed October 4, 2007 Paul Madge (West Sussex UK) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
The Sony KDL20S2030 is proof of the philosophy that you get what you pay for - you can buy a 20" LCD TV for half the price of this one. However, both the visual and audio quality of this set puts it at the top of the pile. The picture is vibrant, sharp and very lifelike with an almost startling intensity that is missing in most other sets of this size and larger. Also, the sound quality belies the size of the set in that it is extremely clear and has significant presence to it. Additionally, the range of settings and connections including HDMI is very wide indeed. Initial setup is very easy too being largely automatic. br / br /Only two slight "nit picks" from someone who is hard to please when it comes to gadgets - the remote control is silver as opposed to black (I bought the black version of this TV) and its scale is disproportionately large given the size and likely placement of this set - to me this is lazy on the part of Sony in such an expensive product. I think they "borrowed" a remote from a larger set. br / br /Overall, though, this is a high quality product, that is well finished with matt surfaces to the cabinet and screen (unlike the distracting shiny "piano black" of some rival manufacturers sets), high quality output and logical controls. In summary, unreservedly recommended.
Definitely the best small LCD TV October 2, 2007 Anorak44 (London, UK) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
After taking back two rubbish 19" integrated Freeview TVs to the retailers (the Wharfedale L19T11W-A from Argos for 230 and the Philips 19PFL5522D/05 from Comet for 330) we finally realised that we had to pay a bit more ( 385 from Comet click and collect) to get a good quality TV for the bedroom. The Sony KDL 20S2030 fits the bill perfectly. Good quality picture, easy set up and impressive sound, with 10 watts output (2 x 5 per speaker). So I agree with all the reviews here. This set retails in Comet's shops for 499, so the Amazon price is a good one if you can wait for the delivery.
Size isn't everything September 21, 2007 Ichabod J (Farleigh Wallop, Hampshire) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Good picture quality, decent sound, lots of connectivity options, including HDMI, plus inbuilt Freeview tuner; everything you could wish for in a small TV. Also, and importantly, considering it's likely to live in bedrooms and kitchens mostly, it has nice clean lines and the design is less obtrusive than most sets. (It helps that the model is available in silver, black or white, so you can choose what will work with the intended location.) br / br /As others have mentioned, the sound quality especially is markedly better than most sets of this size - a real plus when listening to digital radio stations via the Freeview. br / br /Yes, it costs a bit more than some, but worth the extra. Heartily recommend.
Best of the class August 30, 2007 Dean Rogers (United Kingdom) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Not a lot to add to the previous reviews. I had waded through 3 other TV's and found their picture quality poor but, having paid 450 for this in Dixons, I still consider this to be excellent value. At the Amazon price it is a steal... br / br /My only concern with buying on-line was the inability to see the TV before purchase and having been stung by 3 others I was not prepared to lose more money. I need not have been concerned and I vouch for this TV set without reservation. It is quite simply the best 20 " LCD TV on the market (even has two scarts) br /
Superb August 21, 2007 S J Buck (Kent, UK) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
This is a great TV that I use in my kitchen. br /The plus points are: br /1. You get freeview. br /2. Its easy to setup. br /3. The picture quality is excellent. br / br /There are no negative points to date, it does everything I require.
