Excellent value January 7, 2008 Kevin Hall 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
If you want a small, cheap PDA you can't go wrong with this. I had one for about a year before I replaced it with a Palm T|X. It's strongest selling feature is the non-volatile memory which at 32MB is quite generous considering even expensive Palm's a few years ago were only 8MB. If you add this to the excellent sync with Outlook or with Palm Desktop and the vast range of Palm applications you just can't go wrong. As an electronic diary/address book 32MB of memory is more than you can ever use. The downsides are the screen/display isn't the highest quality (fonts and pictures can be a little jagged and the contrast on images can be poor), there is no memory card slot or wireless/Bluetooth. However it does the basics extremely well - it seems a shame Palm have really got on top of making the PDA so good at a time when the PDA concept is probably on its way out.
If it dies.... May 26, 2007 Mr. A. Shanmugalingam (UK) 26 out of 27 found this review helpful
press the reset button on the back of the unit with a pin. br / br /The earlier reviewer who complained about the unit dying should have known that the common cure for electronic failure is a reset. br / br /The main advantage of this product is that it is a flash memory, so it remembers its contents even if batteries die. It performs all the main palm functions and the batteries last longer and is lighter than Windows based pdas. br / br /The only issue I have with it is the faint high pitched alarm function. If you have hearing difficulties you are not going to be able to hear it. br / br /
fab wee diary May 10, 2007 P. J. Mowat (edinburgh, scotland) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
ok it's not for those seeking an all dancing equiped pda, but this is perfect for my use as a reliable electronic diary. great battery life and easy to use. only gripe is i wish palm offered a more solid stencil with dual ink pen option as with older palm products like my old v model.
Replacement for Psion 3 April 5, 2007 Old Man (Manchester UK) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
My beloved Psion series 3, much better than the series 5, which I got for my 60th birthday 12 years ago, finally bit the dust. Since I am no longer working, I no longer needed the power of a Psion, simply a means of storing name and addresses, an appointment system and a means of storing photographs of my two granddaughters. My wife has a Tungsten T5 and is happy with it. Reviews of the Z22 were favourable. Since this has a touch sensistive screen, I ordered the Palm together with the Proporta Case, this added 1/3rd to the price but was worth it. I had some trouble sorting out the use of both the Z22 and the T5 on my computer, however the Palm help line was most helpful. All is now working and I am very happy with my new product, although I miss my Psion!
