This is a great device and has some marked improvements in its software over previous editions. Having been involved in an accident in a remote country lane, I am particularly impressed by the 'Where am I?' feature that displays a simple sentence you can read out to the emergency services. br / br /I'm not that bothered by the loss of the SD card slot but my major niggle is the fact that there is no longer a bluetooth connection to a mobile device. I upgraded from 2nd Edition to 3rd Edition because of a faulty device and my TomTom Traffic subscription is now useless. br / br /Traffic updates can now only be retrieved via a plug-in RDS-TMC receiver (more dashboard spaghetti!) which bizarrely is not available to buy and TomTom have no idea of when it will be! br / br /A very versatile little unit but if you want traffic updates... forget it!

Total UK overage only had one blip in Wales near Abersoch, has on all military Mod sites and roads unlike the newest software. Plus its easily updated from the net with speed camera and road restriction information which could pay for itself within 12 months. br / br /The reason for four stars instead of five is the lead from the lighter is in an awkward place on the tom tom and the charge time takes ages. br / br /Its got a belting big screen and its well loud enough to hear over the noiseiest of kids and music. br / br /All in all its superb value and @ Amazons price its a must have.

I initially purchased this for 132 on Amazon however when I clicked on the hyperlink to check the delivery date the cost had changed to 127.10 and Amazon kindly reduced the amount to match this. br /What I am very unhappy about is that they sold it to me with incorrect details. The Amazon site says that it comes with a 1GB memory card a memory slot, neither of which are true. I told Amazon that it doesn't have a memory slot and they contacted TomTom who confirmed this as advised in an Amazon email to me. br /Why then is it still being advertised with the incorrect claim. The 1GB card was why I wanted it in the first place, and obviously other people will be enticed by this. br / br / br / br /

If you,like me drive only in the UK this is THE sat nav to have. br /There are no complications,its just like a Nokia phone,anyone can pick it up and use it ! It is deadly accurate and if you take a detour intentionally or otherwise it will continue to point you in your intended direction until you are back on track. br / Get one and throw your A-Z away.

First main point is don't fall into the trap of believing you can upgrade this device with new maps. It will only do Great Britain. If you need Europe you will need to buy the other TomTom Europe. TomTom have tuned into the mobile phone style of marketing which means the only print worth reading is the small print, if you can find it. TomTom also advertise a TomTom 1 with bluetooth, BUT only to connect to thier subscription services, not phone calls etc. as you would assume. br /Generally speaking the navigation is not bad once you realise your brain dwarfs the processor in the sat nav. Many instructions are best ignored br /"keep to the right" being one of them, unless you want to stick in the 2nd lane 3 miles from a roundabout with irrate drivers tailgating you and overtaking on the inside. It should stick to giving directions not telling you how to drive. br /The voice is loud and clear but the battery life is deliberatly only 2 hours to contrast with 5 hours on the x hundred pound models so you need to plan for for dashboard spagetti if you are going on a journey. br /My person view is that this a handy gadget when used sparingly, otherwise you may end up using it navigate to the body shop because it can be yet another distraction to looking where you are going. br /Speed camera alerts are good as is the warning that you are exceeding the speed limit. br /The bottom line is that this sat nav is very impressive for the price. br / br /
