Bourne ultimate ummm.... January 8, 2008 I. Marsden (UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This should be a great movie to watch. Matt Damon, who's at is best when he isn't tasked with too much speaking, does a really convincing job as Bourne, there's a notable cast and the story has pace and thrills aplenty. All the ingredients needed for a rollicking good action movie. br / br /However, for me at least, the constant use of chop/cut away shots, which are often used instead of directly showing close-up violene or action: takes much of the impact of the film away. Further to this, too much close up, documentry style wobbly-cam work (probably meant to make the watcher feel closer to the action), oftend makes the film tedious to watch due to the constant bouncing around of the on screen image. This may work better on a full scale cinema screen, I don't know, I missed it! Which is why I was really looking forward to it on HD but on a home theatre scale screen (50"), the wobbly-cam action distracts more than it thrills. br / br /A great movie but filmed in an irritating way. br / br /

A great conclusive end to the trilogy. I really hope they come up with a way of continueing it though. br /If you've not seen the first 2 please don't watch this first! I don't think there is a best of the three - they're all equally, cooooel. br / br /I flinched and bought a HD-DVD player for this and Transformers mainly. I'll stick my neck out and now say that I prefer Blu-ray. They just seems much better on the quality. The HD-DVD's menu's all seems to jerk around and this whole 'connect your player to the internet to download extra features' thing. What on earth is that about? Seriously, can't we just have it on the disk????
