apparently it's been five years since the last one - some days it feels like 500 - at times i thought there wouldn't be another one - but then i wrote some songs that i felt equalled and maybe even bettered the ones on keep going - so i recorded them here they are. this is the 8th lilac time record and i think my 15th in total - i don't know why i mention that - just trying to add some invaluable back ground. although perhaps better known for being the original spoons player in freddy and the dreamers he prefers to be remembered for translating ezra pound into a broad black country accent. one of the high points of this record for me was working with the legendary danny thompson - whose work with the incredible string band pentangle nick drake - to name but three - i have loved and been inspired by. the artwork is lovely too - at this rate by the time we release the next album there wont be any cd's - so enjoy the artwork while you can. a mini album "happy birthday peace" will be out soon x
